The Cannonball Run discussion thread

love this movie, how many low budget movies have such an amazing cast:

Jackie Chan, Jamie Farr, Roger Moore,Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr,Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, Peter Fonda, and of curse the always hot Farrah Fawcett

my favorite parts

Spoiler:
The Sheik(Jamie Farr) looks at the waitress' boobs and says ... and two milk , and of course Mad Dog jumping the train

One of my favorite movies of all time.
A classic.

Part 2 was not so bad also, however, still does
not compare.

I remember renting this childhood favorite when I was in college and finding a lot of the obscenities removed, or at least it appeared such. Can anyone else confirm that this was edited for a video release, and is the current one also censored on DVD?

I also seem to remember Hot Wheels doing a line of Cannonball Run cars with Captain Chaos on the label, fun times!

Cannonball Run wasn't a low budget movie.

It's still funny and holds up a lot better than you'd think. Dean Martin and Sammy in the Ferrari is classic.

I wonder who they would use if they did something like this nowadays? Do you think some of the racers would include Nick and Jessica or some members of the LOTR fellowship? I hope not!

You're right. I think I read somewhere that Burt Reynolds was paid $5 million for TCR, which was unheard of back then. I really like these bad Burt flicks from that era, Smokey & The Bandit, The End, Hooper.

Gotta love Smokey!

The recently released bargain pack is a great one too. All three for under $13.00 in most places.
