LOTR RISK----get it, play it.
If you are a die-hard fan of LOTR and have ever enjoyed Risk, you should definitely check this out. This game has 2 orc and 2 elven armies and you compete for the actual territories of Middle Earth.
A few differences between LOTR RISK and normal risk
1) Mountains stop passage
2) No building up armies on card turn ins (ie 5,10,15,20 etc) They are constant depending on which ones you turn in.
3) There are adventure cards that mix up the game, including ones that allow you to take additional armies and pass through mountains.
4) There is an option to play where the ring travels to MORDOR, and the game ends when it is destroyed.
I have been playing this, and it is pretty cool to be able to defend Gondor from Orcs in Mordor. The game takes a LONG time if you don't use the ring though, so be prepared.

When I saw it on the stores I picked it up and held it for a few minutes trying to figure out how in the hell I could justify that purchase. I love Risk, but there's just no one to play it with now.
