I think I know which one you voted for..

I agree, depp is dreamy.. <3

Though it was a tough choice between Dead Man and Ghost Dog. Stranger than paradise was a close third.

I voted for Dead Man, a beautiful film. Night on Earth was a close second for me. I actually really like most of his movies, though.

He is definitely worth looking into. Dead Man is like a dream filmed in black and white. I really liked it. Most of his movies are very quirky although some are a bit slow paced. He tends to use a lot of musicians in his movies. I would definitely recommend Dead Man, Night on Earth (not on DVD yet), and Mystery Train. Down by Law and Stranger than Paradise are also good.

I haven't seen all of Jarmusch's films, including Down by Law.

I voted Dead Man.

Had to go for Mystery Train--love that movie.
Night on Earth is a close second in my book.

Stranger Than Paradise is my second favorite movie of all time.

Down by Law is also excellent

I still need to see Permanent Vacation (DVD please!) and Coffee and Cigarettes but everything of his I've seen.

I haven't seen too many (not sure why, I've enjoyed everyone I've seen) but of those I'd give the nod to Night on Earth.

The 'Coffee and Cigarettes' with Bill Murray made last year is an updated version of the Jarmusch film of the same name made in 1986. He also made a sequel to this movie, both films starring Roberto Begnini who has been in several of his films.

Same here. I adore all of his pictures that I've seen, but I'd say "Down By Law" is my favorite, if just because of Tom Waits.

Jarmusch is planning on releasing "Coffee and Cigarettes" (meaning all the interviews, from the 80s to the present) this year. And that comes straight from him, during a live interview I attended.

First for me is Mystery Train. I love the ensemble and the intertwined story.
Second would be Ghost Dog ( I especially like the drain pipe scene lifted from Branded to Kill or was that Tokyo Drifter?)
And third is Dead Man, not because of Depp but because of Gary Farmer's Nobody.

I voted for Dead Man, and am happy to see that it's gained a following since its release, when it was roundly panned by the critics.

"Oh god, I'm hit! Lord have mercy! Burns like hellfire! You son of a bitch! I'm gonna have to kill somebody now."
