Well, the reason i'm asking this is because they are often compared actors, and would like to know what everyone else here thought? Who's more versatile and better at his craft? Obviously i realise, Steve Buscemi is far more popular and people know him more.

I like them both so I'm sitting on the fence .

John Turturro, definitely. Look at the difference between his characters in Do The Right Thing and Barton Fink. I think he is one of the great unsung actors working today.
Buscemi isnt bad, just nothing has overly impressed me by him.

I love both as well, but I have to give the edge to Buscemi. Whenever I see Turturro, there is never any doubt he is from New York. He just can't seem to shake the accident. But Buscemi seems like he can be from anywhere and any background. He's a real chameleon in that respect.

That is a tough one . . . I think I'd give the edge to Turturro, but I'm not sure I could tell you why . . . maybe because he tends to be able to play a wider range of characters.
Examples:
- Mr. Deeds - Emilio Lopez
- Rounders - Joey Knish
- The Big Lebowski - Jesus Quintana
- Clockers - Det. Larry Mazilla
- Quiz Show - Herbie Stempel
- Barton Fink - Barton Fink
- Do the Right Thing - Pino
- The Color of Money - Julian
- Gung Ho - Willie
I think my personal favorite is "Joey Knish" in Rounders.

Obviously, I think the Turturro is the better of the two.

I prefer John Turturro because he seems to have a bit more range than Steve Buscemi. I love both actors a lot, but Turturro gets the slight edge because of his versatility.

Love both of these guys but Turturro has a slight edge on the versatility of his characters. Even though he plays ethnic characters because of his appearance.

That's really tough but I have to go with...Johnny Depp
Philip Seymour Hoffman by leaps and bounds.
Please keep going!

after seeing Turturro in the last episode of Monk, my vote is definately with him.
