golden globes MOVIE discussion thread
Please only discuss the movies portion of the awards here, so mainly we don't try to overcrowd the forum in one area from both movie and tv fans
here are my picks (of whats listed in an entertainment weekly ad best performance by an actor in a motion picture comedy bill murray actress comedy scarlette johansson best picture comedy lost in translation (yes, I have lost in translation sweeping even though I havnen't seen the movie yet) best picture drama lord of the rings the two towers actress drama charlize theron actor drama sean penn (mystic river I believe) |
Listening to E!s coverage of the pre-show, they say that if Cold Mountain wins tonight, it'll make it that much harder for LOTK:TROTK to get the Oscar, but I'm holding out for PJ and crew. Hopefully they will get what is due them.
As for actor and actress... your picks seem to be good, but Johnny Depp could give Bill Murray a run for his money. (by the way, the HFPA's website sucks...) |
my predicts (not personal picks)
pic- lotr rotk pic com- lost in translation actress- charlize theron actress com- diane keaton actor- ben kingsley actor com- bill murray sup actor- alec baldwin sup actress- renee zellweger director- peter jackson |
 Tim Robbins (who won for Mystic River) and his lack of political commentary - I was expecting him to say something.
|
Sorry to hit both threads, but if someone could post an MP3 of the opening Outkast song I would be very grateful. Thank you!

Different topic . . . anyone else getting tired of seeing Sex And The City winning awards? I have yet to figure out what everybody likes so much about that show . . . the TV nominies are the same year after year. And it seems as though the winners are a revolving door. Can someone post the winners thus far? Thx! Jason |

Scarlett Johansson not winning for lost in translation is beyond me.
|
 Bill Murray rules. So many awkward pauses...
|
Bill Murray's speech = rotfl
|
YEEAAAHHHHHH BILL!
And I appreciate that he didn't thank the HFP. After that Trio documentary I now hate them. |
lol at Diane Keaton saying Shit and only the T getting cut.
 |
what's up with scarlett's hair? doesn't look good at all...
and pacino's hair??? yeah murray was money in his speech. |
Nice to see Howard Shore get the award. I don't think he can be nominated for an Academy Award (something about a sequel rule or something).
|
Is this the first time Fran Walsh has been seen publicly for any LOTR related material?
