Please help name this movie

Can't remember much or else I would have used IMDB, but I do remember something about the son going back in time (no, not Back to the Future) to I think save his dad. It is a newer movie (2003 I think). I also thought it had Sean William Scott in it, but I was wrong. I remember thinking it looked interesting when I saw the trailer on tv. Thanks.

Sounds like Frequency (although that didn't have Sean William Scott). It starred Jesus and the Rookie.

On a side note. Did anyone see this yet and is it any good? It seemed pretty interesting to me from the preview. Oh, I know it's based on a Michael Crichton book, but how is it when not compared to the book. I'm not really into Crichton's work and want to know how the movie stands on it's own. Thanks.
