How is the quality of the sword? I've never bought a sword before but I've always wanted to own one and have it as a nice wall piece. And being a LOTR nerd, this might be the perfect sword for starting off my collection...

the sword is very high quality, very heavy, and very detailed. The handle is leather and the insets on the handle are gold. The blade is stainless steel, so it won't rust. if you like the design, you will NOT be disappointed by the sword. I was honestly a bit underwhelmed by the quality of the plaque. For the price, i was expecting a solid stained and etched piece of wood, and it's more like pressed board with a veneer and a screened design. Still, once it's up, it's not noticable.

it's still a tossup between Narsil and Anduril for me, but i'd definately recommend one of the two. No problems with my order from bladematrix and they had the best price i could find. Narsil was about $180 shipped. my guess is that anduril will be a bit more and possibly backordered due to demand.

thanks for the info Chess. I'll have to see how my budgeting goes for the next month, but hopefully I'll be able to order one of the 2.

You could also check out Topps officially licenced autograph cards and memorbilia cards (piece of the material made from the costume) they are on ebay and are cool there are all the characters but some are pricey. The have them for each movie. I just picked up the Witch King on ebay. pretty cool. Also Sideshow Weta made those cool Filmframes that were given out on trilogy tuesday.
They have a film cell from each movie. No 2 are the same...
Cool as well...
Just my 2 cents

Are these swords removable from the wood or do they only hang?
