I saw this trailer and not sure if I should feel disturbed by it or if I should have my sense of humor open to it.

If this movie were about Buddha or Mohammad, I'm sure Hollywood would be embracing it with open arms. But because it is Jesus Christ, it automatically has a bias against it.
Considering this is Gibson's first directorial effort since "Braveheart" (and we all know how well that turned out), I am very surprised that more people are not talking about it. And I don't just mean in this forum. I mean in the media; besides the whole "controversy." Seems that this has potential to be a major artistic achievement and possible modern classic. But because many veiw it as "politically incorrect" and "insensitive," it looks to be a victim of political bias.

Judging by the trailer this version doesn't seem to offer anything visually that I haven't seen in Greatest Story Ever Told, King of Kings, or Last Temptation of Christ. I hope it's ideas are more interesting than it's visuals.

From AICN
Also Fango screened a trailer that garnered the most cringe inducing laughs it starts off like the Kill Bill trailer_THE THIRD FILM BY MEL GIBSON then imagine just watching The Passion Of The Christ trailer with the Kill Bill music then it proceeds to say___ IN THE YEAR_______ 2004____________ THE JEWS WILL_________ KILL CHRIST. Well that's all that I remember for now but I hope this info is useful.

More films have been made about Christ in Hollywood than anywhere else in the world.

I think the story is fairly well established.

"...this version doesn't seem to offer anything visually that I haven't seen in Greatest Story Ever Told, King of Kings, or Last Temptation of Christ". In other words it looks old hat and cheap. Hopefully it's ideas are more relevent than its look.

It's nice you know how to laugh since you don't know how to read. Go back and read my post with emphasis on the word "visually".

Well I think this will be the most powerful movie of the year. But thats my opinion, and I'm by no means ashamed of that.
Sometimes its simply the message, not the budget or the hype.
I thought there would be a more positive conversation here, but again, i'm let down...
