I heard a rumour that Lions Gate isn't releasing "High Tension" (aka Haute Tension) until 2005(!?) - I hope this isn't true, cause if it's true - Lions Gate are complete morons. Any info on this would be great, cause I might have to make a trip up to Philly to catch one of the two screenings this Friday or next Tuesday night.

I just watched a preview of Zatoichi (Kitano) @ the Arcligt Hollywood. If I understood the speaker they had after the movie correctly, the movies U.S. release has been delayed until after July 4th. Miramax whould not give them an exact date.

I think that you are missing Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle.

I saw the trailer for 'Shaun of the Dead' last Monday, which I assume would mean the film is slated for a Fall 2004 release, (right?) have you heard if and when it is to be released?

Also, what's the release date for 'The Brown Bunny'?

according to posted link, Rogue Pictures release of Shaun has a tentative date of the 24th of Sept.

'Proteus' had a NYC debut on the 30th of July from Strand Releases, would assume a very limited roll out of the film, may or might not happen due to largely negative reviews.

check out the new Fall Movie Schedule in the latest Entertainment Weekly, there a whole lot of movies mentioned some with dates.. including... !! (drumroll) 'Undertow' (hooray!)

Any idea how wide this will be?

I don't know? (one hopes very) but I'm checking out a sneak tonight, so I am very siked about this film. (director and two members of the cast will be in attendance for a post screening Q&A).

is the November 19th release of Almodovar's "Bad Education" a limited release? The Washington Post's Fall Movie guide denoted that this wasn't slated for release in Washington DC until a January 2005 release, I hope they are wrong. Is this a Sony Pictures Classics release, cause I know that we Washingtonian's get screwed over by them when it comes to end of the year releases.

United Artist denotes Undertow as having a 10/22 release date in select cities.

UA's release of Hotel Rwanda is scheduled for a 12/22 release in select cities as well.

Warner Independent's limited release of A Very Long Engagement starts on 11/26

Jonathan Caouette's Tarnation opened in New York on 10/6 and will be rolled out nationwide in the coming months.

Ron Mann's film Go Further opens on 10/8 in Los Angeles.

Ousmane Sembene's Cannes prize winning film Moolaade opens in December in DC, can't seem to find specific dates for the NY/LA dates, which I assume might in early/mid November.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but it looks like Alfie has been delayed to November 5th. Paramount thought it would do better as a substitute to The Incredibles instead of going up against The Grudge, Surviving Christmas, and I Heart Huckabees (which is going into wide release). It would have been kind of cool to see Jude Law go up against, well, Jude Law. That means he'll have one movie opening up in November now, with three more on tap for December.
