I just checked this out from the library, and it ended abruptly right after the mom came in the room, with no credits or anything. The tape stopped playing at that point and started rewinding.

Did I actually miss any of the film, or is that really the end?

I've never seen it but it is a short. It's not a full blown movie. Probably runs around 5 minutes.

That's the end.

There's a credit running after the mom came in, and one short sequence.

I just found it through "other" means, and that was the end of the movie, except for the credit sequence. It is kind of strange how the library's tape ended right there, like someone wanted to remove the credits...

and after the credits the roommate comes in with a duck.
and says something like, "do you like my duck his name is howard."
