... and I still can't tell Merry from Pippin.

I liked it in ROTK when they were apart; that made it a lot easier. But these two guys both look like the illegitamite son of Eric Idle and Peter Frampton and when they're together I have no idea which one is which. Anyone else???

not noticing a pattern with tolken? lets see if you can find all the other things that are some what similiar but different...

Merry wears the yellow vest, and Pippin is the really clueless one.

Pippin is the one with the more Scottish-sounding voice, smaller eyes and pointy nose and he's always getting in trouble. Merry's the one with the blonder hair, rounder nose and big eyes.

Pippin has the skinny face and says alot of stupid things. Merry is the one who looks like he constantly wants to knock some sense into Pippin.

The way I remember Pippin is b/c he is a "fool of a Took...". When he grabbed the Palantir in RotK I couldn't help but laugh b/c Gandalf gets on him just like he did in Moria...

Since Dominic Monaghan is a familiar actor to me (he is in the British series Hetty Wainthrop Investigates), I had no trouble separating his "Merry" from Billy Boyd as "Pippin". I am surprised that so many had trouble telling them apart. They didn't look all that much alike to me.

I was thinking the same thing when I first saw the movies.

i never had a problem telling them apart..........they look nothing alike to me

They look different, talk different, and act different. Does that help?

Pippin is the prettier one.
