Best Director for Another Conan Film?

I'm convinced that Peter Jackson of LOTR fame should direct the next Conan film (sans aging Arnold, of course). The battle scenes in Return of the King blew me away, and similar work could make a Conan flick just as good.

John Milius wants to do another one but I think his time has gone. Perhaps a European director might also do justice to the Robert E. Howard character, too.

My first choice would be to let Milius do another one. Despite some critics opinion to the contrary (Maltin, et. al.), I think John nailed the atmosphere and flavor of Howard's novels in the first one (as much as a film really can).

Poledouris would have to come back and do the score again as well.

Peter Jackson. It could have the epic sweep of Lord of the Rings, the intimacy of Heavenly Creatures and the gore of Brain Dead/Dead Alive.

No question--Milius. I'd also love to see Basil Poledouris come back and do another Conan score, but I believe he's retired.

I'm also sure Basil couldn't top the score he did for the first Conan movie, cuz the one for the second one was ehhhhhh.
