Misunderstood Movie Moments
This thread is about those bits in movies that for some reason cause a lot of confusion in the audience. I was inspired by watching Saving Private Ryan the other night:
Spoiler:
Can anybody think of any other examples of this sort of thing? Try to avoid examples that involve the entire film...like "Nobody understood Muholland Falls!" I'm looking for more focused examples, dealing with minor plot points and such. |
everyone thinks they said "play it again, sam" in casablanca, when it was actually said in "a night at casablanca" the marx bros. movie.

I'm amazed at the number of people who simply don't get what happens at the end of Reservoir Dogs.

In the Bakshi version, they decided to rename Saruman to "Aruman" at the eleventh hour, but they didn't dub all the lines so he's still called "Saruman" in some scenes. Basically, they went from bad to worse, and managed to piss off fans of the book immensely. |

Originally posted by ToddSm66 Similarly, James Cagney never said "You dirty rat" in any film...yet every time you hear a Cagney impersonation, that is the line you hear. She said something else....that I can't remember  |
Originally posted by Giantrobo IIRC, May West never said "Why don't you come up and see me some time". She said something else....that I can't remember  Of course, she WROTE the play the film was based on, so the line could have changed over time. |
