2 Mistakes in T3

I noticed these today while watching the DVD...

SPOILERS AHEAD

1) John Connor says he lives "off the grid" so no one can find him. Trouble is, he registered his motorcycle. You can see the tag on the license plate in the scene with the deer. Not a bright idea for someone who's trying not to be found.

2) In this same scene, John says he was 13 when the second Terminator was sent back through time. Since he was born in 1985, that would mean the events in T2 took place in 1998. This can't be because it was established in T2 that Judgment Day would take place in 1997. Furthermore, T3 establishes that Sarah Conor died in 1997.

John's comment that he was 13 when the second Terminator was sent back also contradicts the timeline of events included on the T3 DVD. The timeline says the events in T2 took place in 1995 when John was 10. The timeline makes sense, but the movie itself doesn't. I wonder if this is one reason why a timeline was included on the disc.

There's no way to reconcile the ages and years in the Terminator movies. They jump all over the place.

Maybe he used fake information for the bike license.

it's easy to land a fake car registration, you just gotta know where to look.

the age thing is a factor but who knows.

Despite the plot holes, I still really enjoyed T3. I could care less about the jump in ages, and the fact that T3 took everything you knew about the first two movies and bitch slapped you with them (no fate), sort of like that feeling you got at the end of Reloaded. It was still a surprisingly enjoyable movie.

t3 I never understood the age game in the terminator movies. didn't judgement day happen august 27, 1997, so that would mean that sarah died a few days after judegemtn day. (what was the date given, I saw the movie, but don't remeber exactly)

The age thing was discussed quite a bit when T3 came out. I believe someone here pointed out that T2 actually messed up John Conner's age as well.

Time travelling robots = cause for suspension of disbelief.

Inconsistent dates producing continuity errors = plothole

Just 2 mistakes?

But seriously, this was discussed when the movie was out in theaters. Just do a search and you will have a big headache when you finish reading it all.

I never bothered thinking about the dates and ages.

I really enjoyed the movie when I first saw it earlier today. I'll let these things slip this time.

Yeah, T2 screwed up John Connor's age, and T3 screwed it up again...

No big deal - didn't detract from my enjoyment of the film.
