I watched Rasputin the Mad Monk last night and all I can say is that Christopher Lee is totally totally great. rotfl

great movie. The Laserdisc has a commentary track that I can't wait to listen too.

And on October 4th, Warner releases "Dracula A.D. 1972" on DVD -- so now ALL the Christopher Lee Hammer Dracula movies will finally be released in Region 1!

Wait, there are 8 movies on 2 disks? Two movies per side? That seems kind of tight.

But I'll have to buy it anyway, to please the wife.

I'm still a relative Hammer newbie but I watched "The Devil Rides Out" for the first time last night and it has vaulted to the top of my personal Hammer list. I loved pretty much everything about the movie, (set design, acting, story, pace). The special effects are dated but the atmosphere totally makes up for that deficiency. The orgy scene is a thing of beauty.

Love Hammer films, espeically the early ones before the studio put it on cruise control. My favorite is "Curse of the Werewolf", but I also love "Curse of Frankenstein", "Horror of Dracula", and "Dracula Has Risen From the Grave". I got the Hammer set from Universal, love the packaging. And 6 of the single titles from Warners, but I need more!

Lost Continent, Devil Rides out, Legend of the seven golden vampires, Plague of Zombies, The Mummy, Abominable Snowman, and One Million Years BC, When Dinosaurs ruled the earth, Prehistoric Women, Vengeance of She, witches, and Reptile.
