Just viewed Black Christmas again the other day and it kind of put me in the mood. ;)

Seriously, my all-time favorite (and of many other people) is Christmas Story, recently released in a very nice 2-disc deluxe treatment. Nightmare Before Christmas is fun too.

1. It's a Wonderful Life
2. Charlie Brown Christmas
3. Miracle on 34th Street (Color and B&W - B&W is still the best)
4. White Christmas
5. A Christmas Story (Two-Disc Special Edition)
6. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Old cartoon and Live action movie)
7. Scrooge (B&W version)
8. Scrooged (Bill Murray)
9. The Muppet Christmas Carol
10. Santa Claus is Comin' to Town/The Little Drummer Boy/Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer/Frosty the Snowman/Frosty Returns
11. The Santa Clause (Tim Allen)
12. Santa Claus the Movie
13. The Nightmare Before Christmas
14. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
15. Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas

Movies with Christmas, but not just about Christmas
16. Home Alone 1
17. Die Hard
18. Jingle All the Way
19. The Bishop's Wife

My favorite film to watch at Christmas is : CURSE OF THE CAT PEOPLE. Despite the lurid title, it's a sensitive fantasy about a lonely girl who befriends the ghost of her father's first wife. The finale is haunting and intriguing and the whole sequence takes place on Christmas Eve. Great flick directed by Jacques Tournier that is sadly absent from DVD.

My fave:
1. Miracle on 34th Street - the colour one. Haven't seen the B&W.
2. Home Alone - only love the first one.
3. The Santa Clause - quite good in picturing how Santa works :D.

That has to be the most misleading title ever for a movie that had absolutely nothing to do with the original. Not a bad film though.

It's a Wonderful Life is my favorite for a "pure" Christmas movie.

Other movies that I like which take place during the Christmas season:

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Reindeer Games
Serendipity
While You Were Sleeping

I'm sure there are a few more that I like, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

The tale of Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol is one of my favorite stories, so I try to watch as many versions as I can at least once.

Jim Backus as Mr. Magoo
Albert Finney as a singing Scrooge - Probably number one on my list.
Seymour Hicks
Alastair Sim - He gives the best performance
George C. Scott
Patrick Stewart
Last year I saw an excellent updated British version with Ross Kemp as Eddie Scrooge, a mean loan shark.

I even liked Jack Palance as a cowboy Scrooge, and Henry Winkler as a Depression-era Scrooge. However, I do not care for a female Scrooge (Susan Lucci, Cicely Tyson, Vanessa L. Williams).

Donnie Brasco... I'm afraid is necessary! :)

D'OH! I sure did! That's a good one too.

Frank: "Grace, put yourself down for a towel too."
Grace: "What about my bonus?"
Frank: "Towel and a face cloth."
Grace: "Ah, shit!"
