6 year olds banned after 6pm

At my local theater, there is a big sign up that states" "Starting Oct 24, children under 6 will not be allowed into R rated movies after 6pm"

Looks like one theater is taking care of the annoying kids in movies they shouldn't be seeing anyways.

It's a good start, but I'd rather have 6 year olds than teens.

I was getting ready to post the same thing. No one under 21 after 8 pm would be nice.

Why are children going to R rated movies?

I agree with this. Also, after reading this thread, Im glad to see that at no times do adults interupt a movie. Every single bit of distraction is coming directly from a teen or child.

In the city I used to live in, no children or juniors were allowed in for the last showing of the night for R-rated movies.

Maybe he meant Fondling Nemo.

Naturally. Even though I've sat behind enough stupid and irritating adults in my 19-years-of-age to last me a lifetime.

I would support this.

I've had far more trouble with bastard teens than 6 year olds. I don't even bother trying to go to the movies on Friday and Saturday nights when my local theaters attract them the most.

Meanwhile, the Kerasotes Theatres chain based in Illinois recently changed its policy to allow children into R-rated movies unsupervised as long as the parents give their OK. The theater explains to the parents that their children are expected to behave, but that's it.

Yeesh.

I support enforcing the stupid MPAA ratings codes.

No one under 6 without legal guardian present for PG rated movies.
No one under 13 without a legal guardian present for PG-13 movies.
No one under 17 without legal guardian present for R rated movies.

The fact that parents think movie theaters = day care, and they can just leave a kid there is ****ing annoying.

Won't last long. Kerasotes started off big with cut-price tickets and have a few more scheduled to open, but their business is beginning to falter. They pay Ushers less and offer no commisions (to keep costs down), so ushers pay less attention to their upkeep, and the theaters are getting grotty pretty quick. This action of theirs seems to be grasping for more business, in much the same way as mom & pop video stores will rent out porn to get business from those who get turned away from Blockbuster.

Scare? No.

Do they give me an indication of how noisy they'll be in the theater. Yes.

I went to see Bend it Like Beckham and the theater was full of teenaged soccer fans with no adult supervision. They were running up and down the aisles and tossing a ball around in the auditorium AND the lobby. We decided to go see Seabiscuit. No teens and it was quiet.

My local chain's policy is no one under 10 in an R-rated movie ever. They aren't afraid to kick ass and there are always cop around so there is never a bad showing of anything.

I saw what must've been a 10 year old at Kill Bill the other night, with what looked like his grandma.

Yeah, do you think when we all get old we'll talk outloud (loudly!) at the screen and yell things to our old friend sitting next to us like:

"WHAT DID HE SAY???"

"HE SAID, 'NO LUKE, I AM YOUR FATHER!"

"OH!"
