Anyone think he can act yet?

Anyone who's seen Life as a House knows he can act. He's working with a Lucas script. Not even Tom Hanks could pull off a decent performance.

Liam Neeson, Ian McDiarmid, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Jack Thompson, Mark Hamill, Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, and Richard Dreyfuss did!

Hayden did too in the brooding scenes in AOTC. Just that love story he couldn't do anything with.

Is no one seeing or talking about this movie? I just saw it and it's excellent. Hayden Christensen does a credible job. But the film is stolen by Peter Sarsgaard as Glass's second editor. Sarsgaard deserves an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Also, a terrific supporting cast including Chloe Sevigny, Hank Azaria and Steve Zahn.

One of the best independent movies I've seen this year. ***½ / ****.

I also give Shattered Glass a ***1/2 out of ****

Hayden Christensen does a great job as the liar Stephen Glass and the film is well acted and directed all around. It's too bad not many people will see it.

HC is truly great in Shattered Glass.

Every second he looks like he might flip out.

Even Jimmy Stewart or Cary Grant couldn't have pulled off those love scenes. Sheese. I've never laughed harder during an inapporpriate time in my life.

Spoiler:
How about Glass's first editor, Michael Kelly (played by Hank Azaria)? I was shocked when, at the end of the film when they were going through what has happened since with the major players in the story, it turned out Kelly was that imbedded reporter who was killed in a Humvee accident in Iraq in April. I did remember that story but I sure never made the connection during the film. I thought it was great that the film was dedicated to Kelly (you had to stay through the end of the credits to see that).

Shattered Glass was very enjoyable, a fine "actor's" film. The framing device seemed unnecessary only because Stephen Glass is treated as such an enigma throughout there's really no need for it, especially when the focus switches to his new editor. As good as Christiansen was, his character was so swarmy and tough to watch, Peter Sarsgard became much more interesting.

I also liked the jab at Highland Park. Made me want to go up to the north suburbs and see it there just to enjoy the reaction of the audience.

Lucas chopped up his dialogue scenes using the same mentality of an action scene. It works on action, but not on serious scenes.
Christenson is a much better actor than in Ep I & II, and Shattered Glass will prove it.

This was an action movie for geeks. It was entertaining because the story is interesting, but I see in no way how it shows that Christenson can act.

Apparently you've never been to Highland Park.

I'm just getting too much fun out of such a minor plot point . . .

I saw it, enjoyed it. I still can't picture hayden christiansen outside of a bad lucas script. His delivery is a bit selling the drama. Even in Life as a house, I loved the film, but HC's acting was a small part I wasn't to impressed by.

His whinning will always take me back to his anakin role.

I caught this movie a while back and enjoyed it. I'm still not convinced on Christiansen but the film itself was quite good.

Ditto for me. Hayden did a fine job as Glass, but he just seems to have very little range, always playing the same whiney characters. Great film though. Sarsgaard was top notch.
