Emma Thompson to play Prof. Trelawney in Prisoner of Azkaban

From Herald sun:

Emma Thompson will make a guest appearance as the eccentric Professor Trelawny, completing an ensemble cast that boasts Gary Oldman, Julie Christie and Robert Hardy.

Filming is nearly finished at Leavesdon, near Londaon, but the movie is not due for release until June. Pre-production on the fourth film began this week.
I think it's an excellent choice.

I think we can conjecture by now that every single once-great british actor will find their way into this series. I'm surprised Rik Mayall hasn't shown up yet, and there'll be a Rowan Atkisnon part by series' end...

At one point Rik Mayall was cast as Peeves the Poltergeist, but they ended up doing away with the character in the movies. Too bad.

I wouldn't be surprised if Atkinson was cast as Mad-Eye Moody, although (spoilers for Book 4 and Scooby-Doo):

Spoiler:
The plotline for Atkinson's character in the Scooby-Doo movie is very similar to happens with Moody in Book 4

Emma Thompson... good choice. Are Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie far behind?

I keep on expecting to see Frank Harper (Dog in Lock, Stock, Juliette's father in Bend it Like Beckham ) to show up in the series.

My wife told me that I'd make a good Voldemort. I don't know if I should be happy or upset about that.

It's too bad that Professor Trelawny and Gilderoy Lockhart don't have any scenes together...that could turn into quite a catfight!
