Trilogy List

OK last night I got bored and started to compile a list of Movie Trilogies. My friend and I came up with a nice size list, but it was also 3 in the morning so neither of us wanted to think too much. We decided a thread would be the best way to get a good list compiled. Here are some of the ones we came up with:

Star Wars OT
Star Wars PT
Indiana Jones
Godfather
Austin Powers
Scream
Friday
TMNT
The Matrix
LOTR
From Dusk till Dawn
Terminator
Major League
The Crow
Beverly Hills Cop

I'm not sure I'd count Indiana Jones or The Crow, since parts four for both the series are being worked on.

I always heard just because a series had three movies, that doesn't constitute being a trilogy. I thought they basically had to be one story in three parts. I don't know if that is completely correct. But it makes sense.

If you want to get technical, you can sort of pull Star Treks 2, 3 and 4 out of the sequence of the others and they form a sort of "life and death" trilogy.

The Stepfather

I understand what your saying, but this whole topic came about between Boston George and I because of my obsession with movies of 3. Star Wars, LOTR, Matrix. So we're just trying to get a decent list of movies that fall into the 3 file. Adaptation style.

The Omen, and I don't care if there is a film which has "Omen" and "IV" in the title.

thats the way i feel about it. The first three followed the life of Damien, the third had nothing to do with him and nothing to do with the original three. They should be a catagory like Alan Smithee where sequels that are just far from all the other films should have to go by. Omen IV would fit into that catagory.

Problem Child

Painkiller 10-05-03 10:21 PM

The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
The Scorpion King

Does that count?
