Trilogy List
OK last night I got bored and started to compile a list of Movie Trilogies. My friend and I came up with a nice size list, but it was also 3 in the morning so neither of us wanted to think too much. We decided a thread would be the best way to get a good list compiled. Here are some of the ones we came up with:
Star Wars OT Star Wars PT Indiana Jones Godfather Austin Powers Scream Friday TMNT The Matrix LOTR From Dusk till Dawn Terminator Major League The Crow Beverly Hills Cop Posted by other users: Mad Max Evil Dead The Dollars trilogy (aka The Man With No Name) Once upon a time in China George Romero's "Dead" trilogy Die Hard Back to the Future American Pie (Homie Edition) Sleepaway Camp Childs Play Jurassic Park Tremors Three Colors Trilogy Taxi El Mariachi/Desperado/Once Upon a Time in Mexico Rambo Robocop Smokey and the Bandit Spy Kids Porky's Poltergeist Return of the Living Dead Candyman Re-Animator Look Who's Talking Naked Gun The Samurai Trilogy, staring Toshiro Mifune Scary Movie Orphic Trilogy Infernal Affairs Fassbinder's BRD Trilogy Human Condition Trilogy The Laszlo Krasnahorkai Trilogy The Stepfather There was a few more but I can't think of them now. Any additions would be appreciated. |

I always heard just because a series had three movies, that doesn't constitute being a trilogy. I thought they basically had to be one story in three parts. I don't know if that is completely correct. But it makes sense.

If you want to get technical, you can sort of pull Star Treks 2, 3 and 4 out of the sequence of the others and they form a sort of "life and death" trilogy.
