Whats your favorite movie of all time?

Sorry if theres already been a thread on this but I searched and didn't find anything.

My favorite movie is a 3-way tie between

Titanic
Scarface
and Jaws

Bechman 2000 10-01-03 03:26 PM

Top Gun. Seen it over 300 times. My father and I bonded a lot in front of that movie. Nothing will be better in my eyes.

Empire Strikes Back, if I'm forced to choose just one. Original Star Wars trilogy if I'm allowed a little leeway.

Jules Winfield 10-01-03 04:32 PM

Pulp Fiction

Michael Corvin 10-01-03 04:39 PM

Braveheart
The Crow
SW Trilogy

probably seen each an equal number of times

Big Trouble in Little China

almost impossible to pick just 1... Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Lotr: TTT, and the Matrix all are worthy to be at the top of my list...

Depending on mood (if I can pick three):

Seven
The Iron Giant (any Hayazaki movie blows it away, but then I can't pick a favorite one now, can I?)
or
Rushmore

Better than anything: ALIEN

Batman, I loved that movie when I was a kid, and I still do. I have watched that movie more times than any other I think.

Honorable mention:
Empire Strikes Back
The Burbs

How is this possible if you think Steven Spielberg is the greatest director of all time? None of his work even makes it into your top 3?

For me it's a two-way tie. For drama I would have to go with "To Kill a Mockingbird." For comedy, "Dr. Strangelove."

Shawshank Redemption for me. Can't wait for the re-release into theaters next year followed by a 2-Disc SE next fall. :)

The Matrix
Followed closely by:
Lost in Translation (I know I know, it just came out)
and Vertigo

Older: Topper
Newer: Probably Raiders of the Lost Ark

Dawn of the Dead. I first saw this when I was 11 and thought it was the most fascinating, exciting, creepy movie I'd ever seen. The most reccent time I've seen it was a few months back and I had all the same emotions. It's wonderfully interesting just on a surface level, and it only got better as I got older and was able to appreciate more and more items in it.

And I wouldn't even consider myself much of a 'hard-core- horror fan.
