Movies you saw in an empty theatre?

I've only seen one movie in a completely empty theatre (well empty except for me and my friend i saw it with) So what movie did you see in an empty theatre? I'll go first

I saw Austin Powers : International Man of Mystery and me and my friends were the only ones there

This was the Thurs after it came out around 130 in the afternoon, I was in high school at the time and they had a deal if you were working and a Sr. you could take one less class and get out at 1 So I guess since it was a matinee showing and right after it came out and wasnt popular immediatly was why it was empty. I still remember trying to convince my classmates it was a funny moive and they would comment that since I was the only one in the theatre that was a sign it was bad. I remember thinking I wished it was a bad moive so we could have made fun of it without annoying anyone, but we sat there and laughed hard though most of it (esp will ferrells small role)

Anyway whats your empty theatre movie?

When A Hard Days Night was showing in the Biograph ( I think it was there, or the Esquire) in Chicago, my brother and sister were the only ones in the theater for the 8 o clock showing. I thought that was kind of odd.

At the Loews theater in the Virgin Megastore in Times Square - I was the ONLY person there for a mid-week afternoon showing of Best In Show .... just me and all those dogs.

I saw Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back all by myself. It was after 9/11 and I was stranded in Texas. I think Hardball with Keanu Reeves was the only movie opening and I so wasn't interested in that so I donated another $7 to Kevin Smith.

Scary Movie 2, I had the theater to myself. I can't help but wonder why.

Its one of my life-long dreams to see a movie in an empty theatre. Ive come close a few times, but someone always has to ruin it.

Everything that came out from 1987 to 1990. I had to preview the films on Thursday night for the theater for the Friday showings. Another projectionist failed to do so and ended up swapping Batman reels 4 and 5. People were pissed.

Three Amigos. My brother and I either had the day or the afternoon off from school, and my parents took us to a movie. Midafternoon, weekday. My family and the projectionist, and he left at the second reel.

I've seen several in an empty theater:

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (on opening weekend)

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (on the last day before the theater pulled it at the end of it's run...my fifth viewing)

Comedian (Jerry Seinfeld documentary...opening weekend in my town, but not opening weekend nationally)

I know there have been a couple more...but none are coming to mind right now. Most of the times this happens, the movies are either at the end of a long run or they are brand new, but don't appeal to a wide audience.

I took a long lunch one day and saw Crouching Tiger Hidde Dragon and I was the only one in the theater. It was great!

Matrix Reloaded, I went in the 5th or 6th week of the showing on a week night, this is in NY too, so it is pretty surprising. My own personal theatre room!

The Fifth Element, I was the only one in the theater.

I went to Kids in the Hall Brain Candy with a group of six friends and no one else was there.

I've seen plenty of stuff in completely empty theaters at the local arthouse place. This is usually on weeknights, near the end of a film's run, which is when I like to go, so I can enjoy it with as little distraction as possible.

Some notable BIG releases were "Super Mario Bros." on its second day of play, and "Ernest Rides Again" on its opening day. I can't say that I was surprised...

Brotherhood of the Wolf
Little Mermaid
Baron Von Munchausen

Those come readily to mind anyway. Definitely a cool way to see a flick.
