whats the scoop on the Rundown
Is this movie worth checking out ?? From the trailers it looks like a pretty good action-comedy buddy flick. The Rock could be cool as an action star and Stifler (Sean William Scott) is usually pretty good for some laughs.
Anyone seen this yet ?? IF so....is it wowrth seeing in Theatres or is it more of a rental....
Any info would be appreaciated.

Someone who hates most of these types of films and whose opinion I trust told me it was better than all the movies he saw over the summer...so I'm at least going to check it out, although I can't believe I'm going to pay for a movie that stars The Rock.

This movie needs more cowbell!
I saw it yesterday. I enjoyed it. It's a mindless action-comedy, but it has a lot of good moments. There are some great one-liners and Walken is great.
I liked Walken's performance because he was almost doing a parody of himself. It seemed like Walken was doing a Walken impression. It was great.
The Rock definately held his own. The action/fight scenes are over the top -- mostly done on purpose. He comes of as an 80s action hero -- one man army type. They have a lot of fun with this, like where the Rock is about to fight the entire football team's offensive line and he tells his boss "They have a chance to go all the way this year and I don't want to hurt them."
Stiffler is there mostly for comic relief and I actually found him enjoyable.
Go into the movie with expectations of a popcorn flick/escapism/over the top action flick and you'll likely have fun watching it. I did.
And... the movie definately needed more cowbell (Whenever Walken was talking I couldn't get that out of my head -- I had a fever... )

It's supposed to be a fun, mindless comedy action flick. Nothing you'll think too hard about afterward, but a great ride while you're watching. And this from the writer of Basic and Darkness Falls.... go figure.

Just got back from seeing this and I thought it was great. I was very surprised by The Rock's performance. Not as good as my summer's favorite Pirates of the Caribbean but it was a close second...maybe third.

I'm surprised at how well all the critics are treating this movie. I swear its been months since Stephen Hunter actually liked a movie and he couldn't stop talking about it.
Critics giving props to an action movie.....starring The Rock (they're giving him mad props too)...I've gotta see this.

Yes it was good, just saw it. Walken was awesome of course. The Rock was great. And Sean William Scott did a good job with his role. I'd reccomend it.

2. Stiffler is funny
3. Yeah, but it's not just any pro wrestler - it's The Rock
4. I liked Very Bad Things - not bad for a pretty much first time director
You don't like those things, then you might wanna avoid I think. I can't wait to see it.

One of the best "summer" flicks I've seen in a long time. Yeah the fight scenes were definitely brutal and over the top, and I loved every minute of it. Definitely picking this up on DVD.

Pretty entertaining.
The fight scenes were hilariously over the top with the slow motion (especially when Beck superman's off the building and punches through the supporting pole lol).
Walken's tooth fairy speech was also friggin' great.

Oh, what a very fun film. A notch or two below Pirates Of The Carribean. Perhaps James Vanderbilt has found his niche after writing a deplorable twist-laden thriller and a sad attampt at horror...
Granted, this is the kind of film you could have written in your head, but still a very entertaining film.
It's basically a western, but in South America ("Southern?), and very well directed. Odd camera movements (zoom-ins, rapid pans, EXTREME extreme close-ups), but nothing that spoiled the film; excellent photography and an incredible surround mix (the fight in the club, with crowd noises and the MISSY ELLIOT:AC/DC REMIX(I shit you not) coming from everywhere - excellent!).
This'll be a sweet Superbit one day...
My one complaint: They used a different take than the one in the trailer (..."ow!"). Hate it when that happens.

I have enjoyed the Rock's comedy stylings on SNL, and from the previews it looks like he'll be funnier in this than in the tepid Scorpion King. I'll give it a look, thanks for the reviews!
