I do not know what you are talking about not liking Penelope. She is a good actress and I like her part on Vanilla Sky. However, I do think that is does better in Spanish films than in American films. You can say I like the stories and her roles better in most of the Spanish films I have seen

This role, in both Open Your Eyes and Vanilla Sky, is the only thing I have ever really liked Penelope Cruz in. So either it's the part she was born to play, or nobody could have survived Captain Corelli's Mandolin.

Vanilla Sky was where I saw Penelope Cruz for the first time. One of my friend sarcastically said that she was over-ratedly beautiful, but I said she was beautiful indeed. And she is cute even with her so-called English tongue.

She's not really believable to me. Way too affected. There are people like that in real life but somehow something about her performance isn't very truthful here. She definitely has personality though, I'll give her that.
