It looks like the money's going to be pretty evenly spread around this weekend.

When was the last time we had a sub-10 million dollar #1?
Obviously before the summer began, but I'd be interested in know how long its been.

Owch. Worst weekend at the box office in a long time, I think....

Yeah those are pretty lousy numbers. POTC still at #4 which is awesome. Im suprised the Order is on their though. I thought that movie would bomb really really bad but I guess not.

Damn, looks like Spade can't get a break.

Come to think of it, Sandler's movies (Happy Madison) haven't been doing THAT well as of late.

But Spade may be able to claim he's in the #1 movie in America, for whatever that's wortg.

And I'd also say that Sandler's movies have done well recently with Anger Management and Mr. Deeds. Although I did exclude Punch Drunk Love, which is really a P.T. Anderson, and not a Sandler film.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jeepers Creepers 2 actually passed Dickie for the #1 spot when the final weekend numbers are in.

Geez, over at boxofficemojo they're saying the last weekend as bad as this was back in 9/2000, when "The Watcher" (?????) was #1 with a piddling $5.8 million....

Thanks for the info Sierra.....I'm thinking Dickie may have a shot at coming in lower than that.

It's very nice to see Pirates still making money.

Wow, ten weeks out and POTC is #3. $300 mil is almost a lock here. Who would've thought that this would outgross <i>Matrix Reloaded</i> at the beginning of the summer?

True. Then again who thought Freaky Friday would make $100 million? ;)

As it should, in a more fair world where financial success is an indicator of merit.

ie ... Freaky Friday was a fun little flick that I enjoyed as much as my 10 yr old daughter did. And all you jaded souls and oh-so-cool elitists here may well scoff, but it was a funny & heart-warming movie and one of the best I have seen the past year.

That word of the day calendar is really paying off!

Hopefully, the lackluster movies out there will give Once Upon a Time in Mexico a bigger audience.

I went to go see this movie and wasn't expecting much, but it's one of the best movies I've seen this summer! As far as Family Disney films go, it's damn near perfect. I'm so happy that it's doing so well.

Looks like word of mouth is really pushing Freaky Friday good, I"m happy.
