sequels you would watch.
Could you please list and explain any films you have watched and thought "why don't they make a sequel to this because I would like to see these charactors develop" as opposed to lets see if they can get a bigger bang.
Personnally I would like to see a sequel to gross point blank, I loved John Cusack etc. (though I will miss Dan Ackroyd). I loved the story and would like to see what would happen next. Any other films you guys can think of? |
Dangerous question.
That which would seem to have a sequel as the next logical progression, often messes up its chance. |
Beavis and Butthead: Do America - 'cept make it 'Do the Earth' or something. Take them global!
It's a sure fire winner. Beavis and Butthead are not deep character's, so it's not like you need a compelling storyline. Just have them doin' the crazy stuff they do. Pulp Fiction, prequel! Romero's 'Dead Reckoning'. |
Always thought Shocker had franchise written all over it.

Unbreakable. It was only the "origin" story of the character, and I really would like to see what happens next for David Dunn.

I remember reading that John Cusack is planning a sequel to Grosse Point Blank.
I want to see more of Jack Burton in Big Trouble In Little China and though it would probably suck, The Big Lebowski. Edit to add: Beetlejuice. A charachter like Beetlejuice is too good to let go. |
ID4 part 2. Contrary to most people, I loved the first one and would love to see more of the story.

I agree with Shocker, that had Sequel written all over it.
also... why did they stop doing Predator movies? Last Action Hero 2 - am I the only one who LOVED this movie? Starship Troopers 2 - come on! Evolution 2 ___ of the Dead - why haven't they continued this series? forget remaking it, I want to see more! Jaws 5, 6, 7 ect - sure they would suck... but sequels are fun! Why didn't they continue cranking out Jaws movies? |

But I'd like to see them renew the cheesy Jaws sequels... like you say, they suck - but you still always sit and watch them like an idiot when TBS plays a Jaws marathon... With CGI you could make a pretty cool Jaws movie akin to Deep Blue Sea... which I loved! :D |
Bad Boys 3
Ghostbusters 3 (only if everyone came back and Harold & Dan wrote it) -NiCK |
Buckaroo Banzai and the World Crime League
Airplane 3 Spaceballs 2 |
I'd like to see a sequel to Masters of the Universe. After all, Skeletor did say he'd be back...

How about Top Gun 2?
I think that it would kick ass if they got Cruise and Kilmer back for the sequel. After becoming an instructor at Top Gun, Cruise wants to try something new so he goes to Harvard Law School, and joins the Judge Advocate General corps. He proceeds to prosecute a highly decorated--yet obscenely snotty and arrogant--Marine Colonel in charge of the Marine Base at Guantanomo Bay, Cuba. After the trial, though, he's ready to be a fighter pilot again and hangs up his briefs. Yes, he's going commando. Val Kilmer re-enlists in the Navy to shoot down Communist North Koreans after having become a self-made billionaire and fighting crime at night as a vigilante. He is constantly haunted by images of his parents gunned down by a bunch of thugs when he was a kid, though. Leave out Kelly McGillis, though. Explain that she has since went to law school and successfully prosecuted a group of men who gang raped Jodie Foster in a bar. Have Anthony Edwards come back in a cameo (not as Goose, of course) as Gilbert, the dude from Revenge of the Nerds. He could be a scientist working on the R&D of a new fighter because the Navy is looking to replace the F-14 Tomcat. After a period of mourning, Goose's wife, Meg Ryan, finds love again. This time on the Seattle Space Needle. Explain that Tim Robbins is no longer Cruise's RIO because he's in prison for allegedly getting drunk and shooting his adulterous wife. Besides, Tim Robbins doesn't like war anyway. Explain that Michael Ironside is no longer in the Navy because he left to join the Terran Mobile Infantry to battle gigantic bugs in space. Tom Skerritt is still in the Navy, but now he's in charge of a unit of Navy SEALs led by a 50 year-old bald Lieutenant played by Bruce Willis. Oh, and since Demi Moore is great in sequels, have her leave the JAG corp--where she teamed up with Cruise--and go through SEAL training so she can be with Bruce Willis' SEAL team. If this movie is a Bay/Bruckheimer movie (RIP Don Simpson), expect a love triangle with Cruise, Willis, and Moore. Yeah, this movie would SO totally rock! http://www.ameritech.net/users/dvdtalk/rome.gif |
