Oh, me so horny.

matome 03-12-04 08:00 AM

Holy shit. Where can you get that second Uma poster?

whynotsmile 03-13-04 12:45 AM

Kill Bill v2 rated R

just violence? Not STRONG violence?

hmmmm maybe the film really is on the tame side.

Kill Bill Volume 2 (2004)
Miramax Films
R Rated R for violence, language and brief drug use.

in other rating news, I found this interesting. You dont see too many nc 17 movies due to violence alone. well you dont see many nc 17 movies at all. I never heard of this. know anything about it?

High Tension (2004)
Lions Gate Films
NC-17 Rated NC-17 for strong graphic violence.

Switchblade Romance (2004)

Enter: High Tension

fumanstan 03-13-04 01:06 AM

Wow, big news :)

RyoHazuki 03-13-04 01:41 AM

Shit I was praying for a pg-13 so I could take my kids.

jaeufraser 03-13-04 01:55 AM

Damn the MPAA and their censorship! This movie should be PG! I'm so shocked!

Ok, maybe not, but can't wait for the film.

Rypro 525 03-13-04 06:26 AM

this one from what i hear is more dialogue and less gore.

harosa 03-13-04 06:48 AM

Man, what a needless thread.

The Antipodean 03-13-04 12:35 PM

In other breaking news, I hear the next Disney cartoon is going to be rated G.

Mondo Kane 03-13-04 12:58 PM

There's no Crazy 88 massacre this time around so the gore level was expected to be dropped.

I just hope that this doesnt mean that Tarantino toned down
Spoiler:
the shot of Elle Driver losing her eye

That actually would be news. Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Lilo and Stitch, Teacher's Pet, and Home on the Range are all PG.

Saving Private Ryan was originally given an NC-17 for violence, but Spielberg wated an R-rating and since he's Spielberg, the MPAA gave it to him.

Looks like an alternate Japanese cut isn't necessary this time around. ;)

Sadly, I'll order the Japanese version anyways, because it'll look damn cool sitting next to my japanese Vol. 1. Here's hoping for more gore in Japan!

Debaser 03-14-04 07:14 AM

Even if it was rated X some moron would take his kids to see Kill Bill v. 2. Just like the careless parents who scarred their kids for life seeing the first one. It wasn't the violence. Nor the blood shed or the disembowelment. No it was Uma Thurmans feet.

Just like Mel got it for the Passion. Its a star power thing if anything, but go ahead and keep with the anti-Spielberg act.

Well when you are the reason why they created the R rating, you have some seniority to get it. ;)

Anti-Spielberg? How is that an anti-Spielberg remark? I love nearly all of his films, especially Saving Private Ryan. Spielberg is a living god in the movie industry and because of that he gets basically anything he wants, and it's rightly deserved. I'm 100% pro-Spielberg. How you see that as anti-Spielberg is beyond me.

And you're mistaken about Mel Gibson and The Passion of the Christ. It never had an NC-17 rating. It was R from the beginning.

I know that the PG-13 rating came about because of The Temple of Doom and Spielberg, but I never heard that the R rating came about because of him. I'm pretty sure that the R rating was around before he had any real power in Hollywood.

o well :o I was hoping my silly remark would have been taken and non challanged. :p

Well in that case sorry about that :( . I just wanted to make sure that wasn't a piece of trivia that I wouldn't be able to answer at some later point in life, if it was ever needed.

Mondo Kane 03-15-04 11:51 AM

Japan's got an old school-looking poster of VOL.2 out. In the tradition of samurai/spaghetti western theater.

Just framed the orginal one-sheet for Vol. 2 last night (the one with the sword going through the death list five) & it looks sweet next two my Kill Bill posters from Vol. 1. Can't find that other KB 2 one-sheet though.
