I really like the depressing/doomed tone of the trailer. The wait for December has just gotten more unbearable.

BTW, was the audio for the (large) Quicktime version of trailer out of sync for everyone else?

PalmerJoss 08-01-03 12:40 PM

It just broke my heart seeing
Spoiler:
Pippin's face after Merry said to him "We will see the Shire again"
. Now if just that one image can do that, imagine the other 3 1/2 hours. I swear that each day seems to get longer as December approaches.

Oh cool. I thought mine was the only one. Yep. No matter what I did, it was slightly ahead of the vid.

Okay. Thanks, Kal Jedi.

That climactic scene you refer to will be staged outside the gates on the battlefield.

Could be. My version of the trailer is either poorly compressed or doesn't play well on my system.
Spoiler:
The larger rider almost looks like he/she is wearing armor with a headpiece, so I assumed it was Eowyn. Then again, the rider almost looks like it could be carrying Gandalf's staff.

I'm reasonably certain that the other rider is a Hobbit, though.

Just downloaded it and watched it and:

HOLY ****. I can't wait. This and Revolutions are my two most anticipated movies for the rest of the year.

Audio was out of sync for me too. Don't really care since it kicked ass anyways. :)

Now just waiting for this guy to get a copy of the Revolutions trailer. :)

Spoiler:
I have one of the "high quality" versions of the trailer, and it is definitely Gandalf. You can (almost) clearly see his face and beard as they emerge from the shadows, and his staff and robes (no armor) are both very clearly visible for several seconds. I suspect that this scene will take place when Gandalf and Pippin arrive at Minas Tirith, although there is no directly parallel scene in the book.

I got a copy of the revoution teaser.

So, was the
Spoiler:
battering ram in the trailer Grond? It looked pretty low rent considering how Tolkien describes it in the book.

Looks good, though. Can't wait.

 I assure you, my friend, that was not He. When He comes on screen, you'll know it.

Life is dark and depressing without hope.

I am still having trouble viewing the damn trailer. :grunt:

Nevermind - I finally got it. :D

At least, we hope that was not He. If it was, then there will be many saying that PJ doesn't know him very well. ;)

If you had read the earlier spoiler quotation, it was
Spoiler:
Grond. The battering ram seen in the preview is definitely NOT Him.

Luc TC 08-07-03 01:20 PM

Oh, I guess I was confused because you guys refer "it" as "He" and "him" and I thought I missed a joke or something :).
