Dreamworks' Sharkslayer to feature a hip-hop version of the Jaws theme

Counting Down's First Look at Sharkslayer

From Counting Down: Slap on some headphones, because this movie's got a beat. With new songs coming from Will Smith, Missy Elliott, Floetry, and more, plus for the first time ever, an updated hip-hop version of the classic Jaws theme (it helps that Steven Spielberg is the "S" in DreamWorks SKG), "Sharkslayer" is much more than a visual feast. It's got an aural aspect that mixes with the beautiful look to give the movie a real personality.
I think this sounds very stupid... I can't believe Spielberg would let someone destroy his perfect theme with that hip hop flava-of-the-week noise!

Does John Williams get a say in this...??

Um, it's two notes repeated. Dum dum dum dum. Why would you even sacrilege it with Hip Hop? Just goes to show these "artists" really don't have any originality whatsoever.

I could care less. I've heard plenty of parodies of the score, and i dont think this is going to be much different.

Do we even know anything about the film? At this point the newer version could prove to be very appropriate depending upon the bend of the film.

Without anything to go by, it's way too soon to say "this is a bad idea". IMHO, of course

What's REALLY sad is that people are complaining about a style of music they probably don't listen to so they probably couldn't give a real opionion about it, when the real problem at hand is that Dreamworks is still allowed to make animated movies.

da dum (booka-chink-booka-chink) da dum (booka-chink-booka chink) YEAH! WE TAKIN' IT TO THE WATER FOR THIS MIX! :eyebrow:

What do you expect from a company that has yet to be original in any of its other CGI efforts ;)
