Riddick: Plot information....
Principal photography has begun on the Vin Diesel Universal sci-fi project in Vancouver this week, and in the official announcement there's a short synopsis too: "Riddick has spent the last five years on the move among the forgotten worlds on the outskirts of the galaxy, eluding mercenaries bent on collecting the price on his head. Now, the fugitive finds himself on planet Helion, home to a progressive multicultural society, which has been invaded by the Lord Marshal (Colm Feore), a zealot who targets humans for subjugation with his army of warriors known as Necromongers. Exiled to a subterranean prison where extremes of temperature range from arctic nights to volcanic days, Riddick encounters Kyra (Alexa Davalos), the lone survivor from an earlier chapter in his life. His efforts to free himself and Kyra lead him to the Necromonger command ship, where he is pitted against the Lord Marshal in an apocalyptic battle with possibly the fate of all beings-both living and dead-hanging in the balance".
Sorry but this just sounds horrible...
Hopefully it won't be though...

dumb... but I like Vin D and I liked Pitch Black. I'm tired of crappy sequels though. Hope they make this one good (or else change their minds and decide not to make it at all)

I loved the first film and Twohy's BELOW was a genuine delight that deserved a wider audience so im confident that we'll see something refreshing when these 2 sequels comes out.

Isn't Dame Judi Dench supposed to be in this flick?

I remember reading a quote from Twohy where he said that he has a trilogy already planned, some sort of large-scale story that would span three more movies. He compared it to "The Hobbit" as a prequel to the three-part "Lord of the Rings". Not a comparison in quality, but you get the idea.
