Hmm.. hard to say. I haven't seen Jason X yet and that has Lexa Doig
And I can't really comment on Part 1 since
I can say that Part 8 has to be the worst. To think that was Kelly Hu's first movie
Part 4 holds a special place just because Corey Feldman goes nutso.

I picked The Final Chapter. I've actually never seen The Final Chapter get beat in any "Favorite Fridy" poll I've seen. I think it's got the best of everthing about the series and Jason just rocks in this one. His death sequence at the end is so awesome and the rest of the kills were great. He used a machine operated tool as a killing device for the fist time in this one too. All around a good horror flick with Jason at the helm.

I picked number three since that's the first one I saw. I was too young to be watching and it scared the crap out of me. I've never seen another Friday the 13th movie all the way through.

I have to go with 7.. it was just the most enjoyable, and Tina was a cool character. And hey, Bernie Lomax gets killed again!
Off the top of my head, I'd have to say my unofficial order of favorites would be:
7, 6, 8 (for nostalgia), 9, X, 2, 4, 1, 3, 5
And yes, I know my list is very off for typical Friday fans, but oh well. I've got them all on DVD and love them all!

I say 1, because it introduced us to Jason and it had a gritty feel to it.
2 is equal as good.
3 was okay, but was slow.
4 was, again, okay, Crispin Glover is the only knowable element to watch this.
5-yeah right.
6-wierd sense of deja vu.
7 is good, I like the telekintic stuff, cool effects, if odd.
8 is fun but too long, but I really like it.
9 is the most bashed Friday movie next to 5, but after rewatching a couple of times, I'd say its my third or fourth fav.
X is great, I think, really fun.

X was probably my fave - but I havent seen any of them in years, beyond part 9. I caught them on showtime when I was a kid, but not since. I cant wait for the special editions - IF they ever come out.
And . . . I find it funny that someone named after a really, really crappy John Woo film would be critical of a Friday the 13th movie.

X - One of the best comedies of last year.
II - The only one to make me jump.
IV - Crispin Glover.
VI - Very funny in places.
VIII - The first time I heard of "Jason Takes Manhattan," it was as a "brought to you by" tag on MTV's "Remote Control" and I thought it was a joke.
I - Overrated but still fun.
III - 3-D!!!!!
IX - A very bad "Hidden" ripoff with a very cool final shot.
VII - Don't know why everyone clamors for a director's cut - excess violence couldn't make this one any less dull.
V - Makes part VII look like Hitchcock at his best.
As you can see, I'm not as big a fan of this series as some of the others. Fun and goofily compelling in places, but it lacks the atmosphere of "Halloween" or the humor of "A Nightmare on Elm Street." Here's hoping that Freddy owns Jason.

Part II, like another post this one was the only one to make me jump.

But the reason I resurrected this thread was to see if anyone could answer my question.
Does Jason run in Part IV?
I am trying to end an argument between myself and a friend. He says Jason does not run. I say he does. The specific scene I am talking about is the final scene where Jason is going after Trish. I seem to remember that he is running (not racing to her, but rushing himself). I find it odd since Jason walks to his victims (or at the least runs off camera).
Thanks to anyone who can/will answer.

And, by the way, Part 6 is my favorite one. It is the best directed and looking of the films (before the big budget X and FvJ) AND a neat Alice Cooper song.

Thanks for the quick response. I now will go back to my insomniac ways.
I actually enjoyed all of the films except for the godawful Party 8 and Jason X..
They made Part 5 look like a masterpiece.

It's funny...as a teenager, I LOVED all these movies. I mean really enjoyed them. I'm only 21, so it wasn't too long ago. Now a few years passes, and I really don't like them. Especially Part X...man that was awful. I know this thread is about our favorite one.....So when I DID like them, part 3 and 4 were my favorites. I guess I grew out of the phase in which I liked them.
