Gregory Peck dead at 87!
This sucks. Just saw this on the news wire here at work:
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Gregory Peck, the lanky, handsome movie star whose long career included such classics as “Roman Holiday,” “Spellbound” and his Academy Award winner, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” has died, a spokesman said Thursday. He was 87.
Peck died overnight, Monroe Friedman told The Associated Press.

I've reported this on all the sites I frequent. I'm really sad to see him go.
I was almost thinking he'd live forever. He was great right up through his last films.

To Kill a Mockingbird was a great movie (and a great book) He was a class act....a true representative of a great actor.

One of the greatest actors ever. The courtroom speech in "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a great example of how an individual can bring dialogue to life and make for such a gripping scene just by delivery.
At least he lived to hear that Atticus was AFI's #1 hero of all-time.
Really sad to see him go.

How sad it is that there's so few of these "golden age" cinema heroes left -- who's still out there? Bob Hope's 100, Katherine Hepburn's nearly there, Kirk Douglas ... are there very many "big names" left now? Sad day it'll be when we realize they're all gone.

I'm never really good at expressing my thoughts on the departed, but Peck's probably one of my favorite old age movie stars. I'll always hold his portrayal of Atticus Finch close to my heart. Rest in peace.

I was just watching Cape Fear a few weeks ago... one of my favorites!
I heard about his passing on NPR, after listening to a tribute of David Brinkley by Sam Donaldson.
Things like this always happens in threes:
Trevor Goddard, David Brinkley and Gregory Peck... (although the first seems to be highly outclassed by the latter two).
