question about the "head vise" scene in Casino

Do we see the eyes pop out. In an episode of the sopranos a character mentions the eyes come out but I can swear that we don't see that (unless he was talking about another version of the movie)

When I first saw it on TV I thought they might have left it off in the P&S.

However that is not the case. In WS you don't see the eye pop out either. It was filmed, but cut.

There was a big controversy surrounding this scene that blew the doors off for studios 'padding' films with more graphic scenes (that were never meant to be included in the final cut) so they could keep certain other ones. Studios would take it to the MPAA get a harsh rating and then reedit the film by removing the pads and get the desired rating in return.

From www.imdb.com:
Martin Scorsese stated before the film's release that he created the "head in the vise" scene as a sacrifice, certain the MPAA would insist it be cut. He hoped this would draw fire away from other violent scenes that would seem less so by comparison. When the MPAA made no objection to the vise scene, he left it in, albeit slightly edited.
