just got done listening to the soundtrack and if the movie is half as good then we're all in for a real treat.

I'm still surprised to see Mike Myers is in the movie. I almost didn't recognize him in the trailer at first.

Re: Inglorious Bastards - Tarantino's Next Project!

OK, I've read the first 17 pages of this thread and I guess i'll weigh in with my position on things:

1) I *love* Tarantino movies. My top-10 list of U.S. films would probably have 4 or 5 Tarantino films in it. I think he is an inspired filmmaker and his love for older (and Asian) film lends itself to fascinating homages (not "rip-offs")
2) I had never heard of this movie until I saw a trailer earlier this summer. The same trailer, I think, that was posted somewhere in this thread, with Brad Pitt going on about Nazis and what they were going to do to them.
3) The trailer makes the film look horrible. I almost wept in my seat at the theater when I saw Tarantino's name attached to Pitt going on about "Gnatzees." Horrible accent; horrible delivery.
4) I still will see this and I hope it turns out to be fantastic Tarantino.
5) I have never heard of Eli Roth.
6) This thread would be easier to read through if 50% of the posts did not reference Adam Sandler and opinions of his acting chops and career, given that as far as I know Adam Sandler is not even in the freakin movie!

Tarantino will be on Charlie Rose, tomorrow, the 21st.

His Charlie Rose interviews are always great.

Never seen Hostel. Didn't seem like my cup of tea. Watched Cabin Fever from Netflix several years ago. It was okay. Started off good and went sortof downhill for the last half. I was not aware of the director.

I wish Maggie Cheung was in Basterds. She's my favorite actress.

Just got back from the midnight showing. Awesome, awesome movie. Definitely my top for the year.

It's going to take a night to soak in, but so far, it's definitely my favorite of 2009.

Yeah why didn't Tarentino cast more hot Asian actresses in a Nazi flick?

Re: Inglorious Bastards - Tarantino's Next Project!

According to this thread, she was cast (and from what I understand, filmed for several scenes) but her part was cut for the final edit. Maybe that will be on the DVD.

Feel free to skip any such scenes if you feel they are inappropriate.

Deadline Hollywood reports this made $14 million yesterday in the US alone. These are great numbers and definitely above expectations. Looks like it should have at least a $35 million weekend.

I never would have guessed that given your screen name.

Tarantino plays movie reviewer:

(I gotta agree with him on this. Never been a big fan of Altman but there are a few of his works I love. This being my favorite or 2nd favorite work of his.)

Harvey pretty much confirms that this will be out on DVD by the end of the year.

I was unclear whether that meant the Inglourious Basterds was going to be released commercially, or simply that they would flood the Hollywood market with non-watermarked "for your consideration" discs like they apparently did with Crash.
