Movie Suggestions

Hey i have recently gotten into movies like Pulp Fiction, Blow, Trainspotting and others. I have found these movies really interesting. I am asking for advise on some other good movies of these nature. I really loved pulp fiction and a friend suggested resevior dogs. So anyone know of any others?

Thank you

Resevior Dogs & Jackie Brown if you want to catch Tarintino's other films. If you want to stick with the drug theme, try Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Requiem for a Dream.

Also check out Traffic, The Rules of Attraction, and Harvard Man.

True Romance is a must have

Also, be sure to check out Shallow Grave and The Boondock Saints.

The Usual Suspects
Get Shorty
Out of Sight
And I think Big Trouble has some funny and witty dialogue... :)

Go! - you can get this real cheap now, but this is a very cool movie
Memento
Run Lola Run

All these movies features non-linear timeline and each one uses it for different effects. Go! is the closest one to Pulp fiction.

Welcome to the forum! Since this thread is about movies and not DVDs, moving to Movie Talk.

Also, don't miss Desperado and of course The Crow. (Two of the DVDs I am picking to take with me on a desert island...)

Dimension X 06-04-03 09:24 AM

Stanley Kubrick's The Killing (1956)

Brazil

I couldn't stand Boondock Saints.

I've been wanting to get Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas but have yet to get it, I'm a huge fan of Gilliam, this is the one that I don't have, of all his films. I don't know why but this one doesn't appeal to me, I do need to see it. Maybe the one reason I haven't picked it up is for the reason I know nothing about it.

Thinking of the movies you listed I came up with films that deal with multiple characters, storylines, and the theme of the drug/crime underworld:

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Snatch
Shiner (with Michael Caine)

John Woo's: The Killer, A Better Tomorrow, Bullet in the Head

Brother (with 'Beat' Takeshi)

Strap a bomb to your face and detonate it instead of watching Boondock Saints. I promise you it will be less painful.

whats wrong with boondock saints?

If you like Trainspotting you should check out these films:

Clockwork Orange
Magnolia
Drugstore Cowboy
Limey
Sid and Nancy
Fresh
Better Luck Tomorrow
Basketball Diaries

and most definetly City of God this is an awesome film from Brazil!!!!

It is one of the worst movies ive ever seen. None of the posters, trailers, dvd art, or anything relating to the movie is actually close to what the movie is like. It wants to be a Tarantino rip-off but even other ripoffs like Suicide Kings and Blood, Guts, Bullets and Octane arent this bad. Its built a large following on the internet for some unknown reason. Please though. Dont see this movie. Now enough with negativity. I highly recommend Reservoir Dogs, Usual Suspects, Goodfellas, and Leon the Professional.

I completely disagree. I loved Boondock Saints, and i'm glad i bought it off the good words i heard from it on this forum (same with Equilibrium... i love these forums :)). Nice and stylish, and an interesting point on morality.
