LOS ANGELES -- If Harrison Ford already has a Walk of Fame star, why is he getting another one Friday?
The short answer is that he's got a new cop buddy comedy coming out called "Hollywood Homicide," with Josh Hartnett.
The longer answer is that there have been two Harrison Fords in Hollywood, and the first was a silent screen player who got a star way back in 1960.
The even longer explanation is that the more famous Ford of the two was selected in 1984 to receive a star, but for whatever reason never got the word.
"Sometimes that happens with the nominations," said Ana Martinez-Holler of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. "They'll change publicists, they'll change management, and aren't aware they had already been approved."
The man known to millions as Han Solo and Indiana Jones also apparently took the word of someone who informed him -- incorrectly -- that the other Ford's star was his, Martinez-Holler said.
The matinee idol does have his hand and footprints in concrete in the forecourt at Grauman's Chinese Theater down the street, she noted.
Steven Spielberg, who directed Ford in the "Indiana Jones" blockbusters, will be on hand Friday to talk about their behind-the-scenes adventures.
And maybe he'll explain how a guy who solved so many mysteries on screen was clueless about his Walk of Fame star.
Boy talk about a mix-up!

ALL the stars on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame won't be able to save the train wreck that Hollywood Homicide looks like...
