"Boogie Nights" question ---
Great movie - great soundtrack. That said, the film was set in the late 1970's, early 1980's, but it didn't include any songs with the word Boogie except for Boogie Shoes by K.C. And The Sunshine Band, but what about the song that the movie was the namesake for? Where was Boogie Nights by Heatwave?
Didn't anyone think it strange that they exclude that?

The movie is loosely based on John Holmes. There is a movie (well, porno) Holmes starred in called Boogie Knight. That must have had something to do with it.

Boogie Nights had at $25 million-dollar budget.
So if it was a problem with the rights, it was probably because the owner wouldn't contract them.

I would think the rights to many of the songs in the movie cost a lot more than a middle of the road song like Boogie Nights....

The Boogie Nights title is on a movie theatre marquee (complete with "now playing"). The camera then falls away to follow people crossing the street to the club, Hot Traxx, then a car pulling up to the club, which turns out to be Jack Horner and Amber Waves.
