Dead or Alive (Takashi Miike) how is it?

The tagline promising extreme violence ect and the fact that the dvd is unrated has me intrieged. Is this flick any good.

Personally, I thought this was very overrated, for an action movie it just plodded along to a overdramatic silly ending. If I had not seen this on Sky Digital and on DVD, my fingers would have been itching to fast forward through a number of extended pointless dialogue scenes. For some reason I thought the rhythm of the film would be similiar to "Dobermann" or "Accion Mutante" - it wasn't. Quite simply, I was very disappointing.

The sequel on the other hand, was much more entertaining and creatively more imaginative than the first.
