MATRIX RELOADED vs. ATTACK OF CLONES

Well, lets hear which one is better.
When the previous movies came out in 1999 PHANTOM MENACE won the box office, but it seemed like many liked THE MATRIX more. And now what are your thoughts?

Nothing really thought provoking about AotC. We know who's who and what's going to happen.

Matrix destroys, demolishes, crushes, obliterates, annihilates, pulverizes, razes, smashes, ravages, mangles, multilates, and decimates Attack of the Clones. And then some.

I liked Matrix Reloaded and disliked AOTC.

I guess Rave scenes are ok with me and Sound Of Music scenes bother me.

You should change this to Pluto Nash vs. Attack of the Clones, just to be more fair to ATOC.

The acting might be a little better in TMR but Keanu Reeves already pulls you down to sub par and the dialog in the TMR was horrible. I love the action scenes but as far as plot dialog and pacing TMR is definitely a downer.

So you are saying Matrix Reloaded is more like Pluto Nash?

AOTC. The Matrix Reloaded had some cool eye candy, but it also had a lot of boring talking and stuff. Clones was pure eye candy all the way, baby!

Clones. At least it wasn't being too serious about itself. Call it a bad movie or what, but it was a FUN movie and wasn't pretending to be anything else. Reloaded was trying too much to be everything at the same time, and failing. IMO of course.

TMR. But AOTC wasn't bad. Neither is a complete, great movie. Both are good flicks with moments worth seeing over and over, like certain fight scenes, etc. TMR seems to fit in as a 'middle' movie better, so I rank it higher.

Extending the comparison to other 2nd movies: Empire Strikes Back and Godfather II still rank about a billion points ahead of all others. (I ignore LOTR since that is truly one story broken into 3 pieces for space/time considerations)

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that somebody with your user name would have such an opinion.

But not shocked enough to dig up that Claude Raines graphic.

Star Wars used to be my favorite trilogy. I loved AotC. However, the Matrix and Matrix Reloaded eats SW alive, shits it out, and eats it again.

I actually like AOTC, but Reloaded was a beter movie. I had ZERO desire to see AOTC in the theater again. Now if you compare the original Matrix to the original Star Wars...

Matrix Reloaded has characters with names that MEAN something, so much so that you can spend hours researching and discussing their significance and meaning. ATOC (and TPM) have characters with names created by George Lucas' 3 year-old which mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to anyone who isn't George Lucas' 3 year-old. That's good enough for me.

TMR was better if for no other reason than it had "style" to it whereas AOTC didn't even have that.
