They also did it in Throw Momma from the Train, in the scene where Billy Crystal reads the title of one of his student's books.

"*****ing" as an isolated expletive can get a PG-13. The MPAA has a bigger problem with "mother*****ing."

I noticed that too on dvd. That was the best line of the movie. Now it is forgettable dog poop.

I saw this last night. I really got a kick out of Seth Green's character because of the whole Napster ordeal. My fiancee went to high school with Shawn Fanning (the Napster co-creater) in Chantilly, VA.

Re: The Italian Job

Sorry to bump an old thread (one from before my time here), but it was the only one I could find about THE ITALIAN JOB (2003).

I finally saw this movie and I had a question about the ending:

Spoiler:
It appears from the final actions that the Ukrainians are letting Wahlberg and the gang take the gold while giving only a small case of it to the Ukrainians. Why didn't they take it ALL back and give Wahlberg & co. a small percentage as a fee for returning it and turning over Norton? Or they could simply have killed Wahlberg & co. and taken all the gold for themselves? The gold did, after all, belong to the Ukrainians to begin with and Mark & co. stole it from them in Venice, right?

Re: The Italian Job (5-28-03)

Sorry, it's been awhile since I've seen this movie and just don't recall.

What I would REALLY like to know is when in the hell is Paramount going to remaster this movie?
It has been 15 years!
For those that do not know, this is one of the worst looking BDs of all time.
It looks like Paramount upconverted a very shitty looking DVD and called it a day.
It's really too bad because this is a pretty good movie.

Whether it was or wasn't, the question remains.

Spoiler:
Why did they let Mark & co. make off with practically all the gold? Why didn't they just give him a percentage or simply take it all themselves?

Who cares. The movies a pile of shit. Now the original 60s version is a classic and a true cliff hanger.

I saw the 1969 version recently as well. The remake is far superior.

I have never once heard anyone make that statement., and certainly don't ever say it whilst in England.

But seriously, the remake is such a dull clichéd piece of shit. The original had that great 60s vibe, Michael Caine at the top of his game, it was fun and the driving sequences were well done. Hell how many movies can say they star Noel Coward and Benny Hill. And the ending is an all time classic.

The remake has Marky Mark, a bored Edward Norton who was forced to do the movie and lame action. Its such a lazy piece of shit movie.

The best parts in the original were the scenes with Coward and Hill. The rest? Too many silly "Swingin' England" '60s antics and that Goddamned song, played over and over, "This is the Self-Preservation Society..."

In any event, can anyone please answer my question about the ending of the remake?

I've been saying this for years. It's in the top 5 worst PQ transfers ever. Really fun film too.

I still enjoy the heck out of this movie, especially the cast of characters like Seth Green, Statham, and Mos Def. I'm still surprised a sequel never got made.

All right, no spoiler tag!

Why didn't the Ukrainians take all the gold or at least most of it at the end? Why did they seemingly take just one small case of it as opposed to three carloads? They had the men, the guns and the will.

I still remember during one of the Oscar nomination shows, they introduced Wahlberg and mentioned The Brazilian Job. I think it never happened due to scheduling.

In all seriousness, no idea. I actually need to watch it again. Could just be a plot hole one should ignore; kind of like Ocean's 11 and how the fake money (which were adverts for hookers) got into the vault.

Geez get the fuck out more... The remake was fun. ON par with the original which I did see first. Neither are perfect but both are fun to watch.

Wow, that's kinda shitty. It seems like it's on cable in HD all the time. I'll watch a few minutes here and I don't remember that PQ looking bad. I haven't sat through the whole thing though so I can't answer Ash's question.

Re: The Italian Job (5-28-03)

I really never ever thought about the gold. It was Wahlberg and company’s and they got it back. The Ukrainians I think were stiffed by Norton and just wanted revenge and what was owed...
