When will we see the first trailers for Return of the King?
It seems like we should be seeing the first trailers for Return of the King soon. Has anyone heard anything? Would they attach something to The Matrix Reloaded (pros: it's a high profile WB film cons: it's rated R), or will it be later in the summer?

Latest scuttlebutt is July, with Terminator 3. That's definitely one possibility. If T3 is underwhelming, it would also be a very sneaky way for the corporation to boost its opening weekend take. There's nothing prepared for The Matrix. Too early and they don't want to steal attention away from 'the company's' franchise du jour.
New Line wants to 'undersell' and be classy until after some of the summer madness blows over. Don't forget that there will be an look at both The Two Towers extended edition and Return of the King on the upcoming 2-disc DVD in August. That's guaranteed to be a top seller and quite an ad for the next movie in itself.
As the excitement and raves start pouring in toward the end of the year, the hype will get proportionately louder. They will probably follow a similar pattern and release the final trailer in early to mid fall, plus TV specials, commercials, etc.
