Do you still like Episode 2?

Yes another Star Wars thread, so sue me! So after all you guys have gone home and watched your jam-packed DVD, do you still enjoy this movie? There was so much hype after this movie came out. So many people deemed "great", "up there with Empire" Have all those people came to their senses yet? Has your opinion changed?

I still like it, it aint the best ever, but I think its pretty good. Nothing can compete with my rose colored glasses of youth, though.

I still love it. The romance scenes are corny, but the rest of the movie is great IMO. I like the political plot, seeing Palpatine weasel his way into power. The battles are awesome, and it's sad watching Anakin begin his decsent to the darkside.

Still no where near as good as Empire, but loads better than TPM.

I have to say it is one of my favorite SW flicks! Empire, then this! Thinking of this movie and TPM....I felt that AOTC is what EpI should have been like and TPM is like Ep0...the pre, pre story. I still have a feeling that TPM will have some hidden clues for EpIII.

I actually like it more now. After watching the DVD, the picture doesn't seem as poor as in the theatre (I'm serious, it looks less flat and more realistic except for the one battle scene with the clones and the floating orb things that looked like they were taken off the TV show ReBoot). The plot makes a bit more sense and the action is better paced. I'd say definitely above EP1.

I liked it better than Ep I

My high points:

The dark feel of this film...not the "kid feel" ep I had
Yoda using his saber
Jango Fett...much cooler than the adult Boba
Kaminoins
Count Dooku/Christopher Lee

I like it more every time I watch it. It seems to work on many different levels. At least to me.

Sure there are some nice moments, and the DVD is cool, but I hate to say it: the glory days of Star Wars are over.
What he said.

Believe it or not, I just saw it for the first time this past Saturday night.

I cannot think of a word that better describes it than "crap." My wife agrees.

Very true... it's like luca$ is trying to cram way too many plot turns into a 2 hour movie.

Well the first time I saw it I really didn't like it. I gave it a second chance and I kinda sorta thought it was ok.

I just gave it a spin on dvd yesterday, there is nothing that really grabs me. The effects are neat, but effects are not even something that is an issue anymore.

My dissapointment with the first 2 movies is that I haven't really learned anything I couldn't have assumed. No real surprises or revelations, its like there is no real reason to tell the story or make the movie.

Hayden's acting is just painful to watch, damn painful, Anakin to Star Wars is what Ritchie Ryan was to Highlander, so damn whiny and annoying.

I'm really trying to like this flick more, but I can't.

In my mind, this was worse than TPM. I don't know if it was the not-so-stellar acting or storytelling. [Not that TPM was much better] But it was just weak. After getting my copy, I checked out the Jango/Obi-Wan fight, Yoda's fight & the deleted scenes.

The first two were "ehhh". The deleted scenes were painful. Truly. After AOTC came out there were many reports about scenes cut out/shortened [See some descriptions here.] that I felt there'd be a separate disc for those alone! Alas, ya'll saw what we got.

Saving it for the super duper ultra mega special special ultimate edition George?

[I, too, agree with Faramir]

What makes it worse, IMHO, is that Lucan clearly learned nothing from the reactions to TPM. Nothing.

What a jackass.

It's sad, these films have so much potential, and Ewan Mcgregors Obi Wan Kenobi is a joy to watch, it is like watching a younger Alec.

I wish Lucas stuck to his original 9 part plan instead of squishing everything into Jedi and by focusing the whole series on Anakin.

No. Actually I never liked it so it is really not a surprise to me. I bought it only because of the price($9.99) and the nipple scenes

Unless you are taking about the real second movie ESB then Yes

I think the third movie will even be worse and the last three will never get done.

All I can say is that it is too bad Lucas did not hire a better director to make a better movie.

What a jackass.
Since you made that statement, you obviously must know him, or you wouldn't be in a position to make that statement. Maybe you can introduce me to him sometime.

As for the question, love it. Fun film.

Both of the statements above are equally illogical.

I really enjoyed the episode 2, much more than episode 1. I rewatched both recently and side by side it really becomes apparent what a better film the second one is. However, a lot of my contempt for the first episode is because of Jake Lloyd.
