How much money will the Matrix 2 make opening weekend.
You have to remember it does not come out ofn a Friday also it is rated R, so Keep that in mind. Also how much will its Final box off will be.
|
around 80-90 mil for the opening, bearing in mind that the R-rating will put a damper on its take. If it was PG-13 I would say it could've given the $114m opening of Spider-Man a shot. I give it a total of around $300 mil.

84.5 million

$0
There is no movie called "Matrix 2". |
One Hundred Billion Dollars
mwhahahaha! |
I say around $90 million. I'm just glad that a blockbuster studio film is being released with a R rating. I'm sure there are some execs at WB who would probably like it to be PG-13 though just so it could rake in extra $$

Friday - Sunday Take will be about 80 Million
If you include Thursday and the Midnight showings, I'm sure it will make close to 110 Million. |
I think it will only do under 50 for the opening weekend. But will theater chains bend the R rating rule since this is something that probably alot of teens want to see but don't want to see with parents. If the theater chains bend the rules, then it will do around 70 or 80. But it is good to see warner have guts to do an R rated movie. But I gaurentee you the ONLY reason the movie got an R rating is due to the Sex scene.
|
It's going to break $130 million easily, R-rated or not. ;)
|
I'm going to go high & say it opens to 95 million.
|
I just don't see how the R rating will hurt it. I never had problems seeing an R rated film when I was that age.
|
Well, it does have the Star Wars/LOTR fanboy type of following, so I'd say around $80 million.
|
Rypro PG-13 quadrupled my already significant excitement for the film when he informed me: But I gaurentee you the ONLY reason the movie got an R rating is due to the Sex scene. Does the sex scene take place *inside* The Matrix? And if so, if Neo is now at the point where he's stopping bullets, imagine what mindblowing shagging techniques he's capable of! |
I say, a lot!
|
$75,000,000
|
Amazed at how many people are voting under 50 Million.

Considering they took the material from "The New Centurians" 1987 episode "Zone Dancers" in which they had a outside operator and name Neon, would be more acceptable to society than Neo as in neo-nazi to Neon for fish name or type of light would be.
Plagerizing by chaging a few names and instead of cartoon format, they make it with Human actors and actress's. The sequel will have to have been written by writers for a off shoot of the original. Marry Neo and Trinity which the good at making cookies lady and fortune telling tells Trinty she will fall in love with the one that will change the power structure from Atificial Intellegent Machines to Human beings again. Since the skies were red when Morpheus pointed out to Neo the wrong time that they were in was completely out of sequence, by about 100 years. Too much artificial intelligence machines tried to make a 'better' world by hunting down people that didn't want to be blissfully ignorant like the trader Cypher and cities on land and below the surface. I don't want to be writer to figure out how not to otright plagerize The New Centurians to not get sued while the Watchowski Bros came out of no where. First film to make a very big grossing film like "The Matrix". If you don't believe what I said, look it up the TV series was called The New Centurians the episode "Zone Dancers" for your own proof!:) |
I almost understood that.
Anyway, the love scene between Neo and Trinity would not be the only reason it gets a R rating. The first one didn't have any love scenes and it was R. And about getting into a R rated film... it depends on the years you were underage. It wasnt until maybe 4 years ago that they started checking ages seriously. |

about 50 million.

One Zillion dollars.

87 million

Jeez. There is no way that this flick will even make near what Spiderman did opening weekend. Hell, I can't see it doing more than $60-$65 million the first weekend. It will do well in the long run, but it will certainly not break any box office records.
|
What are the records for Biggest R-Rated Opening Weekend Ever?
Didn't Hannibal make a big splash with around 50 mil? Anyone? I kinda wanna know, but not badly enough to make the effort to do a search. :) |
