Sure, the folks at Aint-it-cool can be fickle and overly judgemental, but gathering from what I have read, I am gonna skip the R-rated version and just wait for the unrated DVD edition.

How long was the cut you saw. I've read reports of everyone seeing a 84 minute cut but according to the press kit I was sent the film has an 88 minute running time.
Either way I'll be seeing this one on Tuesday morning at 10am. |
i saw the movie yesterday. i really didn't enjoy it at all. don't get me wrong, i love my horror movies with blood and gore and all that junk but honestly this movie just sucked. it wants to be texas chainsaw massacre soooooo bad but its not even close.
my expectations goin into the movie weren't all that high, but i was at least expecting it to be somewhat scary considering all "this movie is so scary and gorey we can't release it" hype thats surrounded it. this poorly produced, acted, and directed MESS is easily the worst movie i've seen in a while and is a shoe in for worst movie of the year. |

i ain't no shill. when the movie is released i guarantee similar reactions will be seen on this board. just wait and see. DigIt: how DARE you accuse me of such a horrendous crime. ;) |
So I guess the reason the movie was delayed for so long was more or less because it was really bad?
Figures. I never thought someone like Rob Zombie to be an Orson Welles anyway. That's the problem when films get delayed (i.e. Gangs of New York). Film geeks like us always think its due to legalites and an artists true vision getting slandered, when in reality it's because the movie stinks. |
I'm interviewing Rob Zombie later on today. Does anyone have any questions they want answered. I'm trying to prep my interview right now and thought I'd see if there were some questions out there.

Either way I'll be seeing this one on Tuesday morning at 10am. As for the originator being a shill or whatever, I vote yes. 4 out of 4 stars for a Rob Zombie movie? Now, I'm not one to pre-judge... I haven't even seen the trailer yet, but I haven't seen very many horror movies that deserve a perfect score... almost none. Even the best horror films deserve like a 9/10 (IMO). Combine that with the facts that Rob Zombie directed it (didn't some Twisted Sister guy direct a bad horror movie as well?) using nobody actors and crap budget and the film does the studio shuffle and receives major cuts. I'm not saying it's a bad movie, but it's at least a recipe for disaster. edit: Just watched the trailer - I take back some of what I said... the actors aren't entirely "nobodys"... I recognized plenty of faces. B-list though. Not that this is a bad thing. Plus, the trailer alone looks more promising than the trailer for that awful Twisted Sister dude's movie. |

Mark Reviewer MovieContests.com/CanadaMovies.net Hey, if you're so badass - when you perform live, why can't you get halfway through one song without getting totally winded? Maybe you should hit the gym once in awhile so you can jump up and down for 5 seconds without having to catch your breath afterwards. |
Any word on how to find a list of cities where this flick is being released? I would like to know just how limited this will be before getting my hopes up too high of getting a viewing.

Why do I picture Comic Book Guy right now ... ok, i'm just teasing. I have been waiting for this film for a long time. It has been stated by Zombie himself that long time horror fans will love it and nonhorror fans will hate it. |

I wonder how many people around here who have been anticipating this movie for so long will come back here and gripe after they see that it is little more than another horror movie with brainless teens?
Still no list of cities? |

Even if this film sucks beyond belief I think it's a landmark for a genre thats been dead since the late 80s. Only in a world as messed up as this can we watch real war and death on TV but still have studio execs tell us what can and cannot be seen in a horror film. Are we moving backwords or what? |
I had the chance to see the film at a press screening on Tuesday morning and well I wasn't all that impressed. I'm not a horror fan per say but I can stomach them just as easy as any other feature film. However this movie was just plain weird. My review hasn't been posted on the net yet though it's finished.
I also had the chance to talk to Rob Zombie about the film on Friday afternoon and while I can't recommend his film. He's a total class act. I was a bit surprised and nervous because I'm fairly new to the interviewing game but he was really nice and took the time to answer my questions. That interview along with my review should be posted at my new online home later on this week. |

Is it like the Day/Dawn of the Dead movies or more like the classic slasher movies? ie Jason, Mike, Freddy?? If you're calling it a movie that will bring back the feel of the zombie flicks with the towns full of the undead, then you really need to watch 28 Days Later. Has that been released in the US yet? That, IMHO is a first class horror movie. |
Hilarious. Had this film been released when originally scheduled it would have bombed horribly and been forgotten about. Now, in the couple of years it's taken to get released, it's built a notarity that it can't possibly live up to...and horror fans will go see just to see what all the hoopla is about.

Originally posted by DarthMaul420 Bombed? I doubt it. Horror fans, such as myself, have been waiting for ANYTHING they can go see that isn't riddled with jennifer love hewitt's name. Blair Witch comes to mind. |

That, IMHO is a first class horror movie. It's not a zombie movie, well, save for behind the camera. it think it is more along the lines of the texas chainsaw massacre. i think i read that rob wanted the movie to have a gritty realism akin to last house on the left and movies like that. btw, i really disliked 28 days later as a zombie flick. if you're going to make a zombie movies the threat should comes from zombies and not switch to humans halfway through. the movie was interesting in it's own right but i guess i was looking for something else. |
Originally posted by Dr. DVD Actually, most horror movies aren't riddled with her name. Still no list?:( Sorry I don't have a list. Do you have a local cinemark? They my have it. |
Im glad this movie is finally coming out, see ya in line :)

You may want to try Regals then, I can't find it listed for Carmike in your state. But that doesn't mean they won't have it at Carmike. They still has movies playing from Lions Gate.
