R.I.P. : Lynne Thigpen
Tony-winning actress Lynne Thigpen, who played Ella Farmer on CBS's The District, died suddenly Wednesday night at her home in Los Angeles. She was 54. The cause of death was not imediately known. "I'm in shock," says District star Craig T. Nelson. "She was a wonderful actress and a friend." Thigpen won a Tony Award for her role in the Broadway production of An American Daughter. She'll also be seen in the upcoming Jack Nicholson-Adam Sandler film Anger Management.

" Be lookin' good, Warriors. All the way back to Coney. You hear me babies? Good. Real good."
She had one of those distinctive voices you could pick out in anything she did.

I loved her scene in Bob Roberts, plus she had a small roles in two of my favorite films; The Insider and Running on Empty.

I first noticed her in a number of Broadway and off-Broadway musicals - she was pure dynamite on stage and had a pwerful set of vocal cords!
