Is Basic Instinct a good movie even without the sex scenes?
I was thinking of renting this movie, but the majority of movies out there (original sin, color of night ect) have great sex scenes but are horrible movies, is this the same or is this an actually decent movie?

It's a great movie, sex scenes or not. I'm not sure how one can view this movie as bland though, theres nothing bland about it.
Then again I am in a very small minority who likes original sin, I think people just like saying that movie is bad, because everyone else does.

It seems to me that a mainstream movie that is only worth watching for the sex scenes isn’t worth watching at all---there are obviously other and better types of movies if one just wants to see some sweaty flesh in action. That said, I think Basic Instinct is an enjoyable and reasonably smart thriller. Certainly worth watching.

Definately get the Unrated version. The R rating sucks. Not just because you miss boobies, but it just has a lower intensity level. This film requires all the gore and tits in order to work at max potential
