My favorite Lethal Weapon movie is the first one, naturally. The fourth one was a reunion, and reunions, by definition, can't have the magic of the original.

I quite liked 2 and 4 (probably because of Jet Li).
Joe Pesci is quite funny as well. Can you imagine him talking about DVDs?

Gotta love 1 for the triangle choke. Although 2 is my favorite: perfect mix of violence, sex, and comedy. 3 and 4 had way too much comedy for me, and Riggs went from being one deadly mofo
to a joke.

The first Lethal Weapon is the best. Each sequel got progressively inferior from the original. 2 is quite good, 3 is decent, and 4 is rather lame.

the first two are great and 3 is awful and 4 is just a jet li flick. after 2, the series took a comedic turn, i don't know why but they should of kept the films more serious.

I love them all, too, but you cannot possibly top the first one. It is one of the all-time best buddy cop-flicks.

#1.Gary Busey is a good villain. part 2 is a really good sequel!
the two people who voted for part 4 should be put out of their misery.

funkymonk, you should have included more options in the poll! I love the series as a whole, but prolly the first two the most if I had to pick actual favorites. The movies are primarily about Riggs and Murtaugh, so it bothers me that the last piece is all about everyone and no one; way too many actors and not enough screentime for everyone.
The third was only great in that Riggs had his alterego Lorna, but Stuart Wilson couldn't pull off the role as a badass villain--laughable really--and the plot itself was just tedious/inane. Thanks to the DVD format, I've prolly already burned deep grooves in my disc for skipping to certain chapters of the movie instead of watching it all.
I watch the fourth installment for Jet Li, Joe Pesci, and Chris Rock. It's a good movie to run in the background when you're listening to Richard Donner's commentary. Not enough goodies though, but whatever.
