My favorite Lethal Weapon movie is the first one, naturally. The fourth one was a reunion, and reunions, by definition, can't have the magic of the original.

The first is my favorite, but part 2 was an awfully good sequel. Part 3 was decent as well, but part 4 was a complete disaster, IMO - didn't take itself seriously.

The first is the best, the second is pretty good and i try to pretend the 3'rd and 4'th don't exist.

Part 2 had the money sex scene. You've gotta add, what, 5 points just for that...

Ditto. I've never owned a copy of the third or fourth.

I quite liked 2 and 4 (probably because of Jet Li).
Joe Pesci is quite funny as well. Can you imagine him talking about DVDs?

"They f**k you with the re-releases, they f**k with the extras, they f**k you with the video............"

Gotta love 1 for the triangle choke. Although 2 is my favorite: perfect mix of violence, sex, and comedy. 3 and 4 had way too much comedy for me, and Riggs went from being one deadly mofo
to a joke.

The first Lethal Weapon is the best. Each sequel got progressively inferior from the original. 2 is quite good, 3 is decent, and 4 is rather lame.

Nothing beats the original.. Patsy Kensit naked in LW2 comes close. Series should have ended there like it was supposed to.

the first two are great and 3 is awful and 4 is just a jet li flick. after 2, the series took a comedic turn, i don't know why but they should of kept the films more serious.

I love them all, too, but you cannot possibly top the first one. It is one of the all-time best buddy cop-flicks.

#1.Gary Busey is a good villain. part 2 is a really good sequel!

the two people who voted for part 4 should be put out of their misery.

Lethal Weapon 2 is my favorite. Mmmm Pasty Kensit.

The original is not far behind. I probably like number 3 the least, but I haven't seen 4 since I saw it in the theater.

funkymonk, you should have included more options in the poll! I love the series as a whole, but prolly the first two the most if I had to pick actual favorites. The movies are primarily about Riggs and Murtaugh, so it bothers me that the last piece is all about everyone and no one; way too many actors and not enough screentime for everyone.

The third was only great in that Riggs had his alterego Lorna, but Stuart Wilson couldn't pull off the role as a badass villain--laughable really--and the plot itself was just tedious/inane. Thanks to the DVD format, I've prolly already burned deep grooves in my disc for skipping to certain chapters of the movie instead of watching it all.

I watch the fourth installment for Jet Li, Joe Pesci, and Chris Rock. It's a good movie to run in the background when you're listening to Richard Donner's commentary. Not enough goodies though, but whatever.

1 - suicidal Mel. Never knew if he was gonna kill himself or the criminal.

That was the point of the movie, the sequels lost that.

The first, of course. But I have to admit I loved the sequels too.
