A public service message for you all

I just came back from a screening of TEARS OF THE SUN. I admit, I saw THE HOURS an hour before I saw the Bruce Willis flick, and that may have set a higher standard, but you know what --

TEARS OF THE SUN is the worst movie I have seen in a long time. Want a moving story of war? Not here! Want characters to care about? Look elsewhere! Want exciting action scenes with real tension, drama, and editing clarity? Strike three!

It's dreadfully boring, and misses the opportunity to be a big American hit movie on the eve of war, and will probably insult many people with its ludicrous portrayal of everything from Africans to Navy SEALs (you'll love it when the ultimate covert force we have decides to go all Pickett's charge -- you'll know it when you see it).

An awful, awful, AWFUL film. Don't say I never warned you when you want those two hours of your life back (though they'll feel like four and a half).

I wasn't expecting much from this movie. The trailer looks horrendous. Not to mention the trailer ruins half the movie as usual.

Is there now a law against putting out good movies if it's not the time period of May thru Mid-August or November thru December?

I was kind of interested in this flick, but I knew it had the potential to be a stink bomb.

It looks like absolute crap and most of the story was given away in the trailer. But if you're looking for a good movie there are plenty to choose from. Spider came out last week.
