What Movie's Ending Would you Change?

Ok...this happens to me a lot.....

You watch an otherwise excellent movie, but the ending sucks.

What movie, and how would you change it?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Devil's Advocate:

Kevin makes his choice, and kills himself, robbing Milton (Satan) of his prize.

MOVIE ENDS.

It was not a dream.

Kevin defeats the Devil at the cost of his own life.

Hmmm. Let's see....

M*A*S*H: America drops A-bomb on N Korea and Hawkeye dies acting as "Human Shield"

Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park: at the end KISS loses its record deal and breaks up

Castaway: Tom goes after girl hot artist chick

The Batman Franchise: NO BAD GUYS WOULD DIE

The Hours

Virginia Woolf's watery corpse shows up at Meryl Streep's apartment and devours the cast.

The Game.

Unfortuantely, I haven't seen it for a couple of years now, so my memory to the specific details is a bit sketchy.

Although I'm a huge Fincher fan, I would have preferred a darker, more sinister ending, such as Sean Penn sitting on a beach somewhere counting his dead brother's cash. In a sense, making the actual game more of a trick or surprise ending on the audience (ala The Sting). Thus, the audience (us) could have been led to believe that the game is an elaborate ruse, etc., only to be shocked when Michael Douglas is really killed at the end as a result of his brother screwing him over (making everyone believe that the game is nothing more than that - a game - thereby lulling the audience into a false sense of security).

I don't always need happy endings where the protagonist sees the error of his ways and everyone is happy as details are wrapped up with a nice big bow.

I would second that by saying I think A.I. should have ended either when HJO falls off the building into the water or when he finds the Blue Fairy underwater.

Remind me to tack an unhappy ending onto Groucho Reads His Laundry List. You guys will eat it up!

Sanke Eyes, Nicholas Cage should have just taken the money and continued on the life that he had made out for himself. The ending should then have been him getting sniped as he was exiting his house at the end.

Chasing Amy

I frequently recommend this movie to people, with the caveat: "... and when you think the movie is about to end... get up and turn off the VCR."

Great film... awful awful ending.

The Hitcher

Spoilered for folks who've not seen it. All I would do is add about 10 seconds to the final shot in the film...
Spoiler:
After shooting Rutger, have C.Thomas pick up the shackles from where they were thrown and put them in the trunk of the car. That would have given it more bite at the end. No overt statement as to what he does with them, but it leaves the possibility that C.Thomas has now taken up Rutger's mantle

Dumb & Dumber

I'd let Harry and Lloyd drive away on the tour bus.

Bladerunner: I would've let Deckard realize he was replicant or at least have him start to really question his humanity and either come to terms with being a replicant or blowing his brains out for killing "his own kind".

End Fellowship at a better place so people that never read the book (myself included) weren't scratching their heads.
