Cradle 2 the Grave: What's the buzz?

While I seldom take in action flicks, I do love Jet Li's style. I thought Romeo Must Die was real entertaining, and think this one looks good as well.

Obviously I won't go see a Jet Li movie for plot, but I was wondering if this will have some good action to offer that will keep me dazzled enough to think it money well spent.

I can't tell you what critics are saying since I haven't read anything. But if you liked Romeo Must Die I won't be surprised if you liked this one as well.

I've only read a single review over on Aint it Cool News and it sounded like nothing special, but if you're a fan of the movies Jet Li has done in the States it should be entertaining. DMX kind of turns me off so this will probably be a used purchase later on for me.

The critics could fling flaming poo at my door...but I think the flick looks good and I'll be checking out. I can only hope however that what should be a bad-ass fight between Mark Dacascos and Jet Li isn't ruined with horrible wire/CGI fu like the climactic battle in Romeo Must Die.

Jet Lis American movies have all sucked imo. I'd love to see him make an epic martial arts movie like Once Upon A Time In China with an American budget. Have the Fong Sai Yuk movies ever been released to the west on DVD?

I think all the Fong Sai Yuk movies in America are called The Legend and The Legend 2, released by Disney (of course).

The buzz on this movie seems to be non-existent. I don't know if that's good or bad. However they've been showing the commericals on tv ad-nauseum for a while now so who knows? I did enjoy Romeo Must Die so I'll probably try and check this out in the theaters if I get the chance.

I thought Romeo Must Die was a decent flick, entertaining but nothing special. I thought Exit Wounds was laughable.

CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE is the best in this Joel Silver produced series of Andrzej Bartkowiak flicks. It has some amazingly good action sequences, great fights and moves at a very brisk pace.

Sure the plot is crap, and the acting is just alright, but I was entertained for the whole thing. If you like action flicks, this movie is for you. **** blows up, people get beaten senseless and not to mention that Gabrielle Union does a strip tease (of sorts) that will knock your socks off.

So basically, if you want to see an entertaining action flick, than check out CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE.

I saw it last nite.Unbelievable plot etc..
Action all the way.1st class stuff.
Never a dull moment.
The thing I respect the most of this film is that they didn't try to interject Plot etc. Everybody knows the story before seeing movie. They just Kick Ass.Great popcorn munching movie.

Another Jet Li - DMX film collaboration. Don't expect too much in terms of innovation for films of this genre (the mixed race martial arts action flick). Nothing is all that complex, though Tom Arnold had a few amusing lines and does bring with him some decent nervous energy, which is sadly needed due to the subdued perfromance by Jet Li, and the badly acted performance by DMX.

The action sequences are fine, fun, and towards the end, a little outrageous. The villains are pretty to look at (except for Chi McBride), but nothing special.

Treat this film like a 90 minute amusement park ride, and you'll get your money's worth.

I give it 2 stars, or a grade of C (for Cradle).

I don't know, but a paper in my local area runs an ad for the movies playing at a theater here. They had it listed as Cradle 2: The Grave.

I saw this last night... awful. The plot and acting were terrible and the action sequences were so far fetched they induced side-splitting laughter. I guess Jet Li's american movies are like porno movies... you don't go see a porno movie for the plot, you see em for the sex. Jet Li american movies you go to see Jet Li kick ass, not for the story. I actually liked Romeo Must Die, but this was a pile. DMX shouldn't be allowed to act. The fight scenes were great though... not enough to warrant a ticket purchase IMO however.

I agree. He need to be in a role that made him famous. He is born to play the Wong Fei-hung character in OUATIC. These Romero Must Die, The One, Cradle 2 the Grave are all junk. If somone wants to see Jet Li in action, they can easily watch his past movies and they have MUCH better fighting scenes.

Seriously there should be something illegal about rappers being in movies. Seriously I think dmx is the worst out of the bunch. I cant understand a damn word he says. And what sucks even more is he signed a 3 picture deal. So we will have to put up with at least 2 more movies.

Saw it Friday. I hate DMX. Worst. so called actor. ever.
I longed for scenes where he wasn't in it. Every time he spoke I was cringing in my seat. Absolutely horrible.
Jet Li performance was good IMO (by his American Movie standards) and Tom Arnold was actually funny.
I give it 1.5 star. DMX kills the whole damn movie. save your 8.75 and wait for TBS

I really liked the opening title song, Go to Sleep. Eminem is on top of his game with this one.

Did anyone else notice the F word silenced out on this song? During the "Now go to sleep bitch!
Die, mother ****er, die! Ugh, time's up, bitch, close ya eyes"

I saw the movie over the weekend. Eminem song at the beginning was a surprise to me. It was a good way to start thou. Eminem is getting alot of hollywood exposure. Back to the movie, cradle, I enjoy the fights scenes but what was up with one hand fighting and the other was playing pocket pool. I wish they would've show more of him fighting Kelly Hu. I didn't like the ending much, it seems everyone wanted screen time of to show off their fighting skills. Where it should've been more Jet Li kicking ass.

The weird part was that is silenced out a FEW times...and then other times it was left in... I noticed it right away and thought that was kind of weird...maybe they could only have a certain amount of Mother*****s per minute or something.... anyhow, awesome song!
